I have one of these, a slightly older version I think. The grill over the blades is a lot more sparse (have to be super careful!) It's currently keeping me comfortable on an almost 40 degree day on the lowest setting. I love it so much! Question, does yours move a little over time until it's not where you want it anymore when it's not on oscillating? Mine currently prefers to blow on my feet lol And loves to head towards the chord and hit it with the blades, which is obviously highly undesirable.
Glad to hear you love yours so much. Also for that question, mine doesn't really move slowly overtime but that is usually due to unbalanced blades. You can prevent that movement by tightening a little knob that is on the side of the neck area of the fan (if yours has that knob). And stopping the cord from hitting the blades would be useful as it might go through the cord overtime
@@Connectitthefancollectorthanks for such a quick reply! Yes definitely don't want it going through the chord! It's not quite on an even surface, so I'm not sure if that was playing a part, but after turning the oscillation on and off it seems to be much better. If the blades are unbalanced, is that a big problem? And is it fixable?
@@katyb2793 No problem. It being on an uneven surface might play some of the part. And with blades being unbalanced, the worst it will do in terms of problems is make the fan shake. And it is fixable but you do have to be careful while rebalancing them.
@@Connectitthefancollector ah I see, thank you so much! That's so helpful! It's not shaking at all and sounds pretty quiet so i think it's all good. I'd be so upset if it died! It's been in the family since it was bought presumably in the 50's. And has outlasted every single other fan we've ever owned unsurprisingly lol
@@katyb2793 No problem! Sounds like the blades do seem to be balanced which is a very nice sight as limit fans blades do tend to go out of balance over time. And they are very well built fans so yeah it is not a surprise that they have outlasted other fans, they are built to last.
