Very good Amplifier, paired with a ifi micro idsd dac and kef q 300 speakers, sounds excellent for any kind of music.

just bought one in very bad visual state but good functional state from ebay. It's amazing, with better bass than Yamaha. It's rated at just 60W(30W per channel at 8ohms?) but it sounds like at least 100W and has a solid bass on any volume. Paired with floorstanding Mission QX-3 sounds great. It's like it drives them to their limit despite they are rated at over 100W. When I see these membranes jumping out from their place I don't see how pushing 3x more power of 9130 would not destroy them. Now I'm curious how would it sound on even bigger speakers.

Does anyone know how this one compares to Onkyo 9110? Does it sound better?

I currently listen to music via iTunes on my iMac computer and this amp ticks a lot of boxes for me. Will the two systems match to result in reasonable listening quality? I source from a 'Y' cable from the headphone jack on the iMac to inputs on the current amp. Has worked very well for the last few years but finally one channel on my old Sherwood amp gave out. TIA. (If it matters... I fully intend to use the subwoofer output for my powered subwoofer).

Hello Sorry as I'm a bit confused, this video claims that the 9130 can be used as a preamp correct? I Looked in the Manual online and I've seen nothing that suggests that the "LINE OUT" which gives a line level output signal can be switched to a "Pre Amp" output. If it is possible please explain how this works as it is not explained in the manual. Is the Line out simply changed to a preamp out by hitting the "Main in" button?

Hi and sorry for the confusion caused by the video: the LINE OUT can be used to use the A-9130 as a preamp with fixed voltage line out (with fixed volume level output). There is no dedicated PRE OUT on the device. The MAIN IN allow to use an external pre amp together with the A-9130 as power amp only. Hope this clarifies your question. Thanks for asking!

Is it possible to use both the Line-Out and the Main In jacks simultaneously? I.E. to insert a signal processor such as the MiniDSP into the signal chain, and still use the A-9130 as both your preamp and power amp?

Hi, thanks for your inquiry - we are afraid this is not possible, you can either you the amp with Line out OR Main In (resp. either as Integrated Stereo Amp or as Power Amp only).

Can you set the crossover for the subwoofer output? Or set it for the main speakers? Thanks!

I like it but It's a pity that is much more expensive than the model it replaces, the Onkyo 9010, given the fact that it has the same features. This high price puts this amplifier against the Marantz Pm 6006, and for me this is a no contest. I'm going to buy the Marantz hands down. At the price level of 9010, even a little bit more expensive, i would have chosen the 9130.

The 9010 is being replaced by the 9110, neither of which have a DAC, whereas the more expensive 9130 and pm6006 do. The 9110 should come in around the same price as the 9010. I took delivery of a 9130 a couple of days ago to replace my ageing Technics su-c800um2/se-a800sm2 and am a happy boy. Drive my Kef iq30's without issue, lovely detail using DAC, rich deep bass with p.m. bass. Hopefully professional reviews will be along soon. Good luck!

@@bobgnarley1 Before writing you should at least check the specifications from Onkyo's site, and you will see that 9010 has a Wolfson 8718 Dac, and also you will notice that Onkyo is trying to sell me the 9110 without a Dac for the same price as 9010 with a Dac.

Is an internal DAC really a desireable feature in the budget price range, given that most devices you'd connect to the amp already have good onboard DACs? Personally, I'd prefer potentially better analog components over additional digital circuitry (at the probable expense of the amp's analog part) any time of the day. I run a 9000R which was expensive enough to warrant a decent digital input stage but at budget level, manufacturers are usually calculating in a very strict manner.

For me it is. I'm looking for a single box that has everything i need. I just want to digitally connect my Pc to the amplifier through Spdif, since usb mode is not available on these models. That way i can play everything i want. I just don't want to spend another 400 euros on a separate Dac like Onkyo 6130 which doesn't even have an Spdif input or a headphone jack.
