Ok I had to comment on Micha claiming the ball hit something mid air. I promise you my friend had a whole box of TP5’s do that to him. I’m not sure if TaylorMade has bad QCQA but I think that some times you get a “knuckle ball” in a dozen balls and we literally had the same issue. Mid flight the ball just nose dives or changes direction. I can almost guarantee that is what happened. I like TaylorMade but their QCQA must not be good to let balls like that squeeze through.

good video - just a quick tip, when tig hit his ball out of bounds on 5 you can take a drop but it is a two stroke penalty so he was hitting 4 into the green and putting for bogey.

Playing from a divot is golf. It’s part of the game. Next time you get a fortunate bounce out of the trees or something similar, you won’t put it back in the trees because of “fairness”.

If you go OB and take a drop from the fairway/where it went out - should really be playing 4 from there to keep it fair as would be 3 off the tee?

New Out of Bounds rule, so you could have played where you dropped it from (not in competition) There is also an optional Local Rule which provides an alternative to stroke and distance relief when it is in effect. This Local Rule is recommended for casual play and not for competitions involving highly-skilled players. If it is in effect, for two penalty strokes, you can estimate the spot where your ball is lost or went out of bounds and then find the nearest fairway edge that is not nearer the hole than the estimated spot. You can drop a ball in the fairway within two club-lengths of that fairway edge point, or anywhere between there and the estimated spot where your ball is lost or went out of bounds.
