Galbi or sometimes they spell it Kalbi here is Korean. Hawaii has many different Asian influences in the food here. We have Korean short ribs in many local plate lunch places.

Yes,you should come early in the morning and park outside the park area before the park area open and walk in to see the sunrise (that is what most people do around 6AM)

Starting early 1900, sakada, mainly from ilocos, emigrated to Hawaii to work on pineapple/sugar plantations, until mid-1940s-50s. My grandpa & his other friends/relatives, came to Hawaii mid-1930s or so. They ended up working Waialua & Kahuku plantations
You know Jan and Ann I lived here most of my life, I thought I’ve seen them all, including the other islands, but to be honest, I must admit, I haven’t gone to whale watching. And to think I’ve been to Waianae a countless times. And one more thing, the people are warm and friendly, not only bec we’re sort of in an Island far from The Mainlanf, but simply bec our visitors like you are just as friendly and fascinating and help us expose Hawaii to the world.
