Bob Mackie is a stunning artist with clothing. He designed a bunch of Barbie dresses that were head turning. This dress accentuates and hugs your curves perfectly! Chef's kiss 💋
Bob Mackie is more wizard than designer, this man knows how both fabric and body works so his creations as long as is the right size will always end up this beautiful. He, Mugler and Balenciaga (the designers themselves, not their respective brands) were truly the holy trinity of making a piece for the body instead of expecting the body to conform with it and you don’t really see much of this level of craftsmanship nowadays.
Bob Mackie also designed Marilyn Monroe's infamous 'Happy Birthday Mr President' dress [subsequently destroyed in a nearly as infamous publicity stunt by Kim Kardashian, RIP] That being said, his long-term relationship with Cher is legendary in the world of fashion and you truly have a stunning piece of fashion history, congratulations!
@@MADEbySOULhe probably didn’t want to 😂 he did say that he thought it was unnecessary for Kim to wear Marilyn’s dress because it was made for her and her only
Bob Mackie is iconic & was a runway legend in the 70's, 80's & 90's. Cher hyped him up all the time. He's done his dues & is Fashion Royalty. That dress is stunning & so beautifully made! Looks amazing on you! ❤
I was just going to say this!! I used to love watching The Carole Burnett Show with my Nanny (Grandmother not an actual "Nanny") when I was a wee mite in the 70's!!
This is the coolest thing you have ever posted. I am 55 and a big fan of Bob Mackie and you appropriately expressed the emotion if I ever had the chance to touch a Mackie dress let alone put it on!! This makes me a big fan of you. Thanks for sharing! Keep resurrecting the vintage and the classy…
Imagine if she died her hair red or wore a Lana Del ray (actually slightly darker like an auburn) coloured wig with this dress and put intense green contacts in….. smoky eye makeup with green glitter eyeliner or green glitter eyeshadow as the cut crease colour …. Nude lip…. Bronzed shimmery skin…. Emerald green bag and shoes or silver shimmery bag and shoes…. Big volumous slightly curled dark red hair blow wave … short manicured emerald green nail Polish…… THAT is a video I need to see
I watched Cher, Carol Burnett, Dinah Shore, Diana Ross as a little girl and Bob Mackie created exquisite dresses, or brilliant costumes for Carol Burnett, so seeing this made me so happy!😂😢😂
@@brownskinnbabygurl absolutely, though only later in her career and I wish he had been able to style her throughout her whole career. She had the best physique in show business!
Wooooooowwww. You. The dress. I'm speechless. Simply stunning. Please please please do a late 70s early 80s blowout but in a modern way with it 😮❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bob Mackie is an amazing artist who doesn’t get as much household recognition as he should. While many other designers seem to make dresses that are not female minded he is truly a woman coded man in the best way possible. Just stunning.
You put it on and started to zip and I GASPED. IT SNATCHED YOU UP!!! Absolutely stunning. Bob Mackie looks best in movement the way the beading catches the light. Killer.
Gorgeous it's stunning on you❤ I just love your style you've come such a light way and I have enjoyed watching your journey wishing you and Andrew nothing but happiness 🎉 love ya girl ❤❤❤
More importantly, a magnificent craftsman!* Mackie is primarily a costumer, which is very different from just a clothing designer. The pieces need to be truly wearable, movable, comfortable and durable, AND express the character being performed. You won't see this quality much anymore. *Let us not forget the behind-the-scenes craftspeople who "build" these pieces by hand. These skills are becoming rarer and rarer, especially here in the US. Although it seems Indian designers and craftspeople are on the rise.
@@lamoinette23 Me too. I would see pieces I designed and built used over and over again because they were so well made they stood up over repeated performances. I would also design with a "base" garment, with minimal gee gaws, in mind so alterations in fit or trim could be easily made. Doubt anyone truly appreciated it, since a lot of kids who want to "design" now don't even know how to sew. But I wasn't going to make crap.
@kristinedoty7876 I'm not saying that it's a bad deal, someone just asked the price, so I looked it up, I wasn't trying to say that it wasn't worth every penny spent, because it is, and it's stunning
I ❤LOVE❤ the movement and flow of all Bob Mackie outfits! Such an attention to detail in the way a body will move within his creations! Iconic designer!🎉🎉
