One of my biggest pet peeves is when fitness influencers gatekeep their workouts and put them behind a paywall so I appreciate you. Im plus size and lifting is what intrigues me enough to the point I’d do it with no complaints. It says a lot because if I’m bored with a workout I simply won’t do it. Glad I found you❤

thank youu! i think sometimes people get confused and think eventually it should get easier... which in some ways it definitely does (as we get stronger, more disciplined, etc) but then we just adjust what we're doing to keep it challenging (so it never really gets easy) BUT! definitely i think everyone has those tough days mentally where they just don't enjoy it, everything is excessively heavy, and it's just a bummer... that definitely sucks but we're not alone 💪

It is refreshing to see a real work out from someone whose physique I admire. Often in the gym, I feel like "Am I doing enough? It seems that I am more often resting than doing", so seeing you do just your reps and then resting was very refreshing.

If You feel pain, You must to do yet 2 turn and then You must finish 3-5 minutes chill and to do it again. When i benchpress do i use 4-6 time and 10-12 benching. Sry for my englsih But it normal when You feel pain. Explain : your body changing, your muscles micro destroying and then you will eat food and sleep and then your muscleshave a healing process.

Time your resting. :) Depending on what you're going for, between 30 seconds to 2 minutes. When I'm going hard on dead lifts I sit for four.

I blew my shoulders out doing bench too and that shit hurts absolutely every upper body movement. A coach I worked with at the time made me readjust my form while benching so that when I came up to my natural stopping point, I would have to push forward past that a few more inches, which felt weird and was terrible to get used to. But after I got in the habit of it, it took the extra pressure off my shoulders and placed it more into my triceps while pushing the weight back up and now I have zero shoulder pain. I know you’re an elite lifter and wanna preface this all with saying I have a trash body compared to you, but thought I’d mention cause it legit changed my lifting life ❤️

What your saying is legit…I also mentioned this in a comment to patty last year when she was hurt so don’t feel bad for caring…….shoulders are a very common problem with bench and a lot of times it comes down to the form ….I’ve trained countless amounts of people with this same problem……really glad to hear your doing well now ….

I am so happy to see that you are too doing those shoulder exercizes. I hurt ma shoulder STARTING OUT like 2 years ago. And i feel like this motivated me a LOT. I always thought that like shoulders healed with rest and what not. I didnt know i have to TRAIN them back to unhurt.

I love these types of videos with all my soul, seeing Patricia practicing the basics like a true powerlifter, I was watching some old videos out of nostalgia and Patty's physical change is spectacular, you just don't realize it, because you see her frequently , Patricia deserves to be in a natural bodybuilding competition

Your back is amazing. I'm working on strengthening my core/lumbar as a 40+ sedentary dude feeling my age. Seriously, amazing work! Not a pervert comment: seeing the muscle that you're working out with the proper technique really helps me visualize what I'm meant to be doing. Just thoroughly enjoy watching you workout and especially listening to you. You are so comical. You are just truly genuine and you! I appreciate that! Keep in mind when you hate a part of your workout or anything you do in life. Learn to love what you hate..... Because most likely, that is where you are weak. As a person and you can focus on being strong in that area of your life. Learn to love everything you do for yourself and your body. Years ago I hated a part of my job. Or you could say? I love the display of existential angst that come with going heavy/hard , specially in workouts where you are not at your best. I (hate) am not "in love" with deadlifts too!

I agree about the music. Presumably, gyms have been playing loud music, based on the assumption that people like listening to music while working out, starting MANY years ago. Long before people typically wore their own headphones/earbuds. So, the problem is that gyms are stuck in the past. Stuck in a time when having personal music players was not as technologically convenient or even possible, if you go back decades. Making things worse is when the gym has its instructor lead “classes” and play their own music very loudly on top of the background music. So, you get the background music the gym plays, the loud music the class instructor plays, and finally the music play in your headphones. The result? Probably hearing loss over enough years. WHAT?

I don't do barbell bench or overhead press anymore because of a torn supraspinatus. Just dumbell flat and slightly inclined press and focus rear and side delts for shoulders. You are doing amazing!

Watching these videos makes me want to be healthy again 😭 i haven’t worked out in the gym and ate healthy since high school, though i am driver for fedex now so that’s definitely a work out, been gaining some muscle 💪

I dono what I'm doing" Also I've made of a point in the gym if there's an exercise that i really really don't like but is really good or if it's a serious weak point/area i just do not like training - I've made a point to learn to love it. Like leg day is now one of my favorite days. It can also apply in most areas of life but I'm really bad at doing that lol Thank you for the great video Patty!
