@@mattgibney4085 you’re not allowed to speak the truth these days because you’ll hurt their fragile feelings. Kane came out fuming when England was criticized by former players
@@efun8334yeah but the difference is Brazil used to be good. England has never been good, well, the players that were critical didn’t have a good England side.
@@Ismaelbarcait’s true. I’m a Madrid fan and if you really see us play football, people will see that yes vini is good but he’s not a new ronaldinho or a r9 guy. He’s just not that. He still struggles on his finishes in regular weekend football with Real Madrid. He gets goals no doubt but as a Madrid fan I’m not the only one that agrees Vinicius finishing needs works but he’s a great dribbler on the wing but he’s not a true forward more than a fast pace winger. Vini isn’t even on the level that Neymar was back in 2015 when he was in his prime with Barcelona. So if vini is considered the best player in the world today? Then yeah, we truly are in a different era now. The Messi Ronaldo era I grew up on slowly goes away
@@DiddyUpgive me a break Endrick is not that guy, he’s good but definitely nothing special, if anything the reference of the team should be rodrygo now that player at least for me is the best Brazilian in the world
@@alanduncan1980let’s not forget ronaldinho winning the World Cup in 02 either. Confederations cup in 05 as well. Ronaldinho in 02 World Cup> Vinicius entire Brazil career
@@archeonoe9810 yeah, but especially, let's not forget 2006 when he was at the peak of his powers, and what did he do? Nothing! I don't know why you want to bring up the good stuff he did, like I'm not aware of it. I'm not talking about 02, or 05. I'm talking about 06 World Cup. He was a huge disappointment. Nothing I'm saying is a lie. Why do you feel like you have prove me wrong or something? What is the matter with you? Get a life! Fs
@@alanduncan1980 you sound hurt lol. It’s a public space and I saw you spam your comment a dozen times so it’s only right you get resistance with your BS lol. What’s the point of pointing out the bad so much anyway when him winning a World Cup makes that irrelevant and definitely gives him authority to say what he’s said lately. Even in 06 with his hard partying lifestyle he was still better than current Brazilian players lol. It takes less time out of my life responding than you posting the same dumb comment a dozen times in 1 video lol. You can’t be mad someone will disagree with you and defend Ronaldinho when your comment is seen all over the place. Take the L and move on.
While Brazil might have been off, credit needs to be given to Costa Rica for absolutely locking down their defense and staying cool under pressure. Instead of hacking every ball, pulled away from Brazil, out of play they kept control and possession to the point where they created counter attacks. They didn't give Brazil an inch and they didn't let up the entire match. Their only failing was their attack capabilities. I was expecting a complete blow out and it isn't as if Brazil didn't hit the goal. CR's keeper was outstanding. In short, it wasn't really about Brazil playing terribly, it's that CR defended exceptionally.
People act like Brazil has been winning every world cup since 1930 ..Well wake up, they were below par from 1970 to 1994.. Brazil is the greatest national team but that doesn't mean they should be a menace in every year
@@pendu.papaperezwhat are the average european teams right now? Right now, England, France, the Netherlands are looking average from here. "Strong" european teams having a hard time with Slovenia, Albania etc...sheeeesh
They were below par from 1970 to 1994?? The 1982 team was one of the best of all time with one of the best players of all time in Zico. Unfortunately their main striker was injured before the World Cup tournament.
They don't have the wing backs to run along the lines and open up defenses anymore. Their wing backs are as slow as molasses and don't have the ball skills needed!
Agreed! It lacked explosiveness and passes in and around the box were just a bit behind too. The talent is there. But they're also the most scrutinized team in the world, a lot to live up to. Hate to say it but Colombia looks better.
He is absolutely right ; Vini is simply talking to everyone on the football pitch, and his mind is preoccupied with how people look at him and what they are thinking, rather than playing football with full concentration. But it is the responsibility of the coach to teach him a lesson.
Vinicius had never show anything in Brazil. Thats my biggest complain with him. Hes been useless in the national team so far. He has only 3 goals in his whole career with Brazil.
These exact clowns critiqued Ronaldinho when he spoke facts, let’s be honest. Not a single player here would even make the bench when Ronaldinho was playing
Vini and Bellingham strong contenders for ballon d’or just shows how mediocre this new breed of players are. At this point, even Messi can win ballon d’or again this year if Argentina wins Copa
@@khalidhawadle5412 Cr7 will have to be impactful in winning euros for that to matter. Portugal sure has chances to win euros, but i dont see Cr7 being dominant in euros. He looks less than a shadow of himself, regardless of how he played in Saudi.
Costa Rica did a great job. To go against a 5-time world champion and walk away with a draw and a point is a great result. A great strategy of using their resources intelligently.
Brazil has a coaching problem yesterday brazil played with 2 defensive midfielders Joao gomez and Bruno with a team that park the bus near 80% possession. At the world cup brazil played with casimero neymar and paqueta vs modric kovacic and brocevic.
Where is fake Balon D'Or contender Vini Pele!?😂 It’s sad that Balon D'Or level is going this low since Messi & Ronaldo left european football. Just remember legends like Pirlo, Xavi, Iniesta, Di Maria, Lewandowsky, Suarez, Maldini, Ribery, Neymar never able to win this award, even Mbappe & Halland are still waiting to win it..........😢 🤷♂️
@@jcvelez915 I'm a Bayern and Ribery fan lol. It's just too much drama around European football. The Balon D'or snubbed Maradona and Pelé.. that's betrayal
I've been a fan of Costa Rica soccer since Costa Rica was, aside from Canada, the first "foreign" country I visited in 1985. While in San Jose, I watched a domestic league game with a group of locals on a bank of televisions in the front window of a furniture store. When the store closed and the televisions were turned off while the game was still in progress, the crowd sprinted to another store that was still showing the game on the televisions in their front window. I followed. I have no memories of the game itself, but being a part of that crowd was absolutely fantastic! I love Costa Rica!
Not a single player here would make the bench when Ronaldinho was playing. I could maybe argue for Alisson but that’s it. Vini would be fetching water bottles for Ronaldinho
@@AmanMagar-zl6zr no he won’t ..he would get bullied ..no wonder players like him (Robinho ) that have a smaller frame they used to come off the bench when Ronaldinho ,R9,Rivaldo , Adriano were there lol ..I doubt if Neymar would make the cut ..back then Neymar would get bullied ..Fifa and UEFA had to apply pressure on the refereeing starting 2006 to protect players
Bro that was the worst fútbol I have ever seen from a team. If you don’t come out to at least try to win then you should not even play at all. Costa Rica had no intention of scoring. They literally had 1 shot and it was blocked outside the box. I would be embarrassed if that was my team. Just parked all 10 players in front of their goal all game long. I would understand if they played defense and then counter attacked but they were not even attacking. Is that how they are going to play against Colombia and Paraguay. If they try to attack either one of those teams they will get exposed. What is the point of not trying to score and win? It’s not like they will have an easier game upcoming where they can steal 3 points.
@@AntonioHernandez-bp3fp If Costa Rica had come out to attack in numbers, they would have been slaughtered as the strength of this Brazil squad is in transition. Plus getting a point in this game puts them in a position to go into their last match against Paraguay with a chance to advance. You can bet you'll see them attack in that game, since from what I've seen, they'll just need to control Enciso (not that its an easy task) to keep Paraguay from hurting them. With such a young inexperienced team, just putting themselves into a position to have a chance is a major feat.
@@AntonioHernandez-bp3fp this Costa Rica is a new team with a lot of youg players, Tf u mean with "try to win" this is not a friendly, for fucks sake this a Copa América game, the draw is a big achievement for this young team.
@@xaviergough9359 Obviously, when it's Brazil you expect them to at least properly challenge for the WC - no excuse with a pedigree + talent pool like that.
This is not the worst Brazil we’ve seen, 2014 WC was the worst Brazil, they were bailed out by the refs until they faced Germany. Then they got exposed. This team has several great players: Vini, Endrick, Martinelli, Militao, Paqueta, Raphinha, Marquinhos, rodrygo, Savio, etc….
He needs to change his attitude. All He did was complain to the ref , fight and argue with the opposite team and look for a penalty. He acts like a child. He needs to grow up.
10 and 9 to rodrygo and endrick, should be a clear indication to where we at now with Brasil... the game was not all that bad, its the composure in front of goal, rodrygo, endrick and vini should step up and show the world that the hype is real
Brazil can move into the box, but Costa Rica's defense blocked them, and Brazil doesn't have any long shooters. They tried some long shots outside the box, but they're not built for that.
they should scrap the ballon dor this year coz i don't see anyone who deserves it. Seriously neymar has no ballon dor but some saying vini and bellingham should win it.Disgrace to level of players who won it in the past
you do realize the ballondor was won by average players before roght players that are worse than these new crop of players youre just blinded by the standards messi and ronaldo set
STFU! Bellingham?? You want that overrated marathon runner to win that?? Football is dead if that clunky player even gets into top 10 Best players in the podium
This Brazilian team, with or without Neymar, just looks flat. They haven’t been the same since that loss to Croatia. Even half decent teams in Europe like Italy, Netherlands, would beat up on this team. They looked awful against England and Spain.
@@mohamedmo8128 oh don’t give me that “then why didn’t they win?!” excuse. Go check the stats and the highlights. England ran circles around them with their B-squad. No Kane, no Rashford, etc. Spain utterly humiliated Brazil and Brazil was saved by an awful VAR call.
@@prestigeshogun1534 Rashford didn't even make it to the Euros. And Kane would have ghosted most of the match anyway like he did against Denmark and Serbia. Also how is conceding 3 goals and scoring two penalties humiliating your opponent?
First time seeing gringo media trying to to analyze football, they talk like FANS… no tactics, no data, this is not football, this is cheap entertainment
I remember the powerhouse of Brazil in 2002. Extremely scary team with only the best players on the planet like Ronaldo and Rivaldo. These days there’s no one comparable to them. They were hungry to win major international trophies, strong and physically one of the best footballers ever. These days the drive is no longer there. There’s simply no incentives to perform or to be proud of wearing the shirt.
The easy excuse is blaming just vinicius. The real problem is the whole team in general. Brazil coach is another Southgate. You can't use wingers as strikers unless you have world class fullbacks.
Vini trying to play like Neymar and carry the team like Neymar did but that ain’t gana work he has a great team around him and needs to play and involve the other players!!!
Y’all need to get off that Fentanyl. Costa Rica defense held up that’s all it was, everyone behind the ball defensively. The goal keeper did a great job not many shots to stop because the defense held firm. For Brazil it wasn’t the best game I have seen but their ability to recover possession of the ball is great other than that Vini needs to take on more players get into the box. They need to be more clinical in front of goal, Endrick wasn’t getting the ball enough I think the coach should’ve made those changes earlier. They lack the killer instinct.
i will always laugh at brazil when they cant win without neymar i will always laugh at the fans that talk crazy trash bout him keep thinkin yall dont need him lmaooooooooo😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The rest of the world has caught up in play, and facilities. Countries are living on the past heroics and expecting that it will just transfer to them and maybe we as viewers are a part of the problem. We hear Brazil and we just assume they will come in and steam roll everyone. The time period where only some countries were good at football is over. You will see this kind of games time to time. You will see the Spains and Argentinas lose to lesser known countries. We need to acknowledge and respect the advancement of the game and the players instead of just believing a team will win on the power of their name.
THIS! I think it's not so much as in "there's not Brazliian talent now" it's more like, there is just great talent everywhere now. Just because other people are playing great doesn't mean you suck now. That's what makes me fall more in love with the sport every year, I love how it evolves. I love seeing amazing talents come from Turkey, like Arda Guler. And have teams with 16 nationalities playing together.
I've been telling people, the US drawing Brazil is not a sign the team is better with Belharter. The US didn't bounce back from the whooping from Colombia is just that Brazil is not that good as a collective no matter all the amazing world class talent. Costa Rica drawing with Brazil only confirm this.
Even in the Euros smaller nations are realizing the low block is the way to go. Its not like Brazil didn't have chances and they got unlucky in some occasions but if you didnt watch the game, I can see why some thought Brazil was terrible.
Brazil teasted a little bit of when concacaf teams play at El Azteca play defense and see they can score a goal on wide open and then wrestle to keep that goal for the win.
@spaceman1678 because he plays for Real Madrid and the awards are a popularity contest as long as the results can justify it. He has no business being in the Balon D'or discussion
Brazil not what they used to be but also everyone else is starting to catch up in skill lvl so the gap is not as wide. This team has no chemistry bad defense bad midfield all attack
"This is a SHOCKING RESULT!' Brazil falter against Costa Rica | ESPN FC".... no shocking.... futbol is play how it's supposed to be play here in latin america!!
Vini jr is literally just a normal player, he pains your eyes when you watch him even neymar was shocked 😂. people were giving him ballon dor shout, ballon dor will fall too much if he gets near it.
Vini Pele making Balon D'Or a low standard football award. So many legends couldn’t able to win Balon D'Or. While some want to give this to an average player like Vini. At least give the award to Tony Kroos!
Modern Brazilian players/teams are so much like old European players, so focussed on attacking, fast, programmed and so predictable. No flair and no elements of samba football, which Brazil were so popular about and enjoyable many years ago. Miss the Brazil teams of the nineties and early 2000s when they used to make teams consisting of players playing home, alongwith those plying their trade from Spain, Portugal, Italy to Holland, Japan, and Saudi Arabia. They were such an interesting mix of individuals and a joyful sight to watch.
People here who troll Vini cannot even do some research that Vini played as number 9 in this match when the whole career in Madrid, he has always been playing in Left Wing. 🤦🏽
@@md_atk3257 especially i love the part where vini tried to dribble past the defenders and he was fouled on but the ref didnt give the pen for that and the back heel flick that really confused the rest of the defenders only to get wasted by Rodrygo. Dont get me started with other brazilian players who are bang average and that coaching tactic as well. Try play messi or neymar in this team, you wont get sh*t with this tactic
