I had to deal with the smell from M18 smokes, pretty much the military equivalent to these that make a pop after a few seconds indicating the smoke seal has burst and the grenade is active

I had walked through one that demo’d by our military. We’ve been told that the particular sample blocks IR like that of thermal imaging. So it contains metal or metallic flakes (cant remember exactly) so that’s why it smells pretty bad 😅

I had to get across downtown and go up a hill to get help without getting arrested. The gas went on for days except on the second day for an hour when the recently indicted president showed up. As soon as he left the gas kept coming. The first night there was a three story wall of tear gas that came down the street just before sunset. I found out later that was when they declared martial law. Martial law is a trip. ⚖️
