Tim Kennedy, Just a few quick notes on convicted felons: Most "White Collar" crimes are felonies. More than half of all convicted felons were convicted of non-violent crimes. The exact same crime can be a misdemeanor or a felony based upon where the crime was committed. Having one's rights restored after serving a felony sentence also varies depending upon where the conviction takes place. Some jurisdictions automatically restore all rights after a certain amount of time. Some automatically restore all but firearms rights. In some jurisdictions, one must petition the court, at their own expense, and can be arbitrarily denied by a single judge. Some jurisdictions don't allow any restoration of rights at all. Given those facts, how is it fair to simply bar all felons from firearms ownership?

I cancelled my USCCA memebrship when i found out how they dropped coverage for Kayla Giles prior to her trial. Feeling unsure about my coverage in the future didnt sit well with me. I don’t see the USCCA being anti 2A at all, but it doesnt seem like they (or any other insurance company) can provide the peace of mind IF god forbid, you find yourself in a situation where you need it. Knowing what to do and when its appropriate to do it through proper training is the only thing that'll save you.

There is already too much gun control on the books that affects only law abiding citizens and no further infringement will have even the slightest effect on criminal ownership. People that realize this are too few and far between and that is the reason most would take issue with those statements. Far too many prioritized issues at hand to even mention gun control right now as it's at the bottom of the pile. If the Israelis had been afforded adequate self protection the attacks on them would have been far less successful therefore its hard for me to sympathize with a populace that allows such subversion.

Brother I totally agree with you, I have served 26 years in the military and am a police officer. I love the second amendment and totally stand for it, but being one of the officers that responded to the Stoneman Douglas School shooting, there definitely are laws required to protect our people, especially keeping guns out of the hands of felons and mentally ill. I Got Your Six on it.
