We are right on the same track. I am 36 weeks with my #4. Wild pregnancy and freebirth. It is so nice taking responsibility for yours and your children's’ health…it’s hard to explain the way that freebirth shapes the way we mother. I loved giving birth in the water with my 2nd but with those baby and my last I decided against waterbirth because I didn’t want me or hubby to deal with the clean up haha. Thanks for sharing!
I just gave birth last week to our third sweet baby and used a birthing center with midwives. It was such a great experience and allowed me the freedom to have the “home like” atmosphere while having peace of mind that emergency care was available if needed. Baby was full term but did need some deep suctioning and extra care after birth, so I’m thankful we were in a place to have that. I don’t know if you have one, but an electric heating pad has been my saving grace for postpartum cramps. Best purchase I made! 😄 Best wishes for you and your family!
Thank you for the phrase: "I'm excited, but I'm not in a hurry." As someone who is roughly on the same birth timeline as you, these are exactly the words I needed to be able to express how I'm feeling!
Thank you so much for sharing! I’m halfway to meeting my third baby in my first home birth with a midwife and I am feeling completely at peace with our decision to do it at home. It’s amazing how vastly different I feel looking towards birth this time vs the other two at a hospital. I pray all goes smoothly for the birth of your baby girl. Shalom!
I watch your previous free birth video. I have had 4 epidural births, 1 c-section and 3 in medicated births. You seem so calm in the video. Do you not feel the ring of fire?🤣 Hands down my unmedicated births were the best.
What “needs” stitches is fairly subjective. I can imagine that if, for some reason, I had massive tearing that wouldn’t stop bleeding, I’d seek medical care (this is so, so unlikely in a non-coached, undisturbed birth). For any other minor tearing, I’d just let my body heal it - spend a few extra days in bed:
I had my baby at home with a midwife. My baby had shoulder dystocia and had a 2nd degree tear. It was a weird tear my midwife hadn’t seen before. She said she could stitch or we could go into labor and delivery. Went went in. Not a big deal and my midwife got to learn in the process!
Will your mother or sister be with you for the birth? Do you constantly keep the babies with you skin to skin for the first couple days? Don't you get up and shower? You and Angie seem so different in many things, but I love both of you! Will some of the older kids stay with Angie then? If
No, it’ll just be me and my husband. I prefer privacy and going inward when I birth my babies. Yes, I’ll shower and take care of my needs, baby can be skin to skin with daddy, too 🤍
