That scene was so iconic and hype that a chinese director straight up ripped it off for a movie they made about Wukong. Journey to the West (2013). Let me tell you, by the time you finish the DLCs you'll be able to say "Asura's Wrath is the greatest anime I've ever played".

This doesn't need a remaster, it needs a whole ass movie trilogy. The start to middle The middle to end Then finally the DLC

This may not have the best game play (camera is kinda funky at times), but dammit, everything else more than makes up for that. They basically spent the entire budget on the story, artwork, voice actors, & animation.

Nah, Lee Everett and even Kratos are better. There's more to being a dad than fighting to protect your kid.

@@FlashmanJW Lee isn’t Clem’s real dad and is a father FIGURE. Kratos is the same as Asura literally. However, unlike Kratos who got a second chance with a new family, Asura died defeating the creator of his verse to protect/save his daughter cause he made her cry. Asura is a better father than Kratos by a long shot imo

I loved the DLC but I was somewhat sad, because it was clearly intended to be a second part instead of a DLC, maybe Asura reaching Naraka without dying and killing some underlings of Chakravartin and then finally fly through space to kick his ass

I'd call the combat "good enough" personally. It's fairly simple, but also decently fun. Which is all I ask for when you're mainly building up your special meter to see what insane stuff happens next.

@@SolidSnake240 For sure, if Asura's Wrath had the finesse or depth of something like Bayonetta or DMC it would push it over the top into the GOATs.

I just think the combat was really good for the time it released, i’ve finished it last week and it better than most action game or action rpg game i’ve played recently

Needs a remake to be replayed that or a console that can play games down the PlayStation line

I think it was something like 5-10 S ranks, or complete 50 chapters, which is almost 4 playthroughs to get unlock the ability to play the dlc you have to pay for. And the game only tells you about this when you reach the ending.

The game is fun as hell, just the spectacle of it is really great. But that DLC model was rightly hated back when it came out... locking a "true" ending (really the final act) behind additional paid DLC is one of the worst examples of publishers back then testing how far they could push micro-transactions.

Yeah, to be fair to him Kilroy was one step ahead the entire fight: he used the main ship as bait the shot it down with the entire ship, then when Asura tried to reach his actual ship Kalrow calculated it such that Asura’s momentum would stop right in front of his main cannon, then when Asura survives all that and gets through an horde of enemies Kalrow runs away and explodes the ship, yeah he died in the end, but that’s only because he lacked the raw power to finish off Asura

@@Zombiewithabowtie Well, if he's that bummed about it you can tell him to suck it then, sorry to say. Hiroki Yasumoto is simply more compelling in the role of Asura. Liam O'Brien has a deep voice, Hiroki Yasumoto has one too, and both can scream like hell but those two points alone aren't enough to make the character. Overall, Hiroki Yasumoto brings in a much more well-rounded performance to Asura - combined with all that anger in his execution he still instills a great of other emotions in his voice, mostly the feeling of sorrow, which help immensely to convey not only Asura's relentless fury but also his deep-seated pain after everything that has happened to him. And that's just taking the main role in the game into consideration. Because the fact is that the English dub's only performance of note his truly Liam O'Brien's alone. He can't carry the whole dub himself, as much as he tried. Other than that, the rest of the English dub's cast can't even come close to the original Japanese VO.

I feel like this would have been better as an anime the gameplay isn't great but the scale story and over the top stuff is great
