Alright, this already hypes me and I only heard the first few seconds. HTTYD is one of my favorite movies from my childhood and I love all of them, so thank you for creating this (probably) masterpiece!
Absolutely amazing! HTTYD has been my favorite dreamworks movie ever since I was a kid and as I got older and more into music I fell in love with it’s soundtrack too. Great work

I don't know a single thing about sound mixing and my This is Berk cover is written in a different time signature from the score, so I may redo the whole thing. Funnily enough, your video here just inspired me to do some more work on it so that's where I was when you replied!

@@MamaSymphonia I've finally plucked up the courage to start the first one, which I chose to be Third Date. I posted a comment there but for some reason it got deleted. The intro to the song is sort of scuffed as there were a lot of "rit." and "rubato" so yeah. Don't ask me why, but I completely thought the arranger was the one who made the sheet music from an audio source, but I searched it up and I am actually the transcriber.

Just wondering, what do you do in terms of audio mixing for videos like these? I've only experimented a little with my own mixer and I've just started panning to adjust for more accurate placement relative to the mic(s?). Is yours preset or do you have to do it all manually?
With libraries like Cinematic Studio Strings here, you generally don't want to mess with the panning because the performers were sampled while sitting in the proper place relative to the mic(s!); i.e., everything is already panned for you. With other libraries you may have to do the panning yourself (convention is violins on the conductor's left, cellos / basses to their right). Just remember to pan the sounds themselves and NOT any effects applied to them (reverb, etc)
Thanks for the info, and I hope you're doing well despite everything! I have panned a few of my covers according to fairly standard orchestra seating and I've been pretty pleased with the results. I still need to learn more about compression and that sort of thing. I also want to mention that the next video in my new series should be up sometime in the next week if you're interested. It's a very fun video about the bagpipes of HTTYD!
