Great job on the review. :) hope you could also dive into the imagery of the song like, whats the meaning of the tower of chairs, egg yolk, her climbing the stack of chairs with the egg on the bottom. It seems like there is so much to unpack, if ever they did intend to hide those meaning in the video.
Thanks for the comment! Mitski did a great job explaining the actual song on her own channel! As for the video, I think the egg is a reference to birth and growth as well as the fragility of your own being. The tower of chairs could just be that concept of content stillness in one's daily life that could come crumbling down with a simple crack of an eggshell! I might be going too deep on it!
this video is so underrated what 😭😭 you described the thought process behind this album perfectly!! also if you do like mitski alot, i'm not sure if you know her but this girl laufey just came out with a new album called "bewitched" (atleast i'm pretty sure) and their music styles are kind of similar but laufey is much more upbeat imo! also a full "the land is inhospitable and so are we" review would be great i love hearing peoples opinions on her music 🙏
