Not discrediting other movies. But Christopher Nolan seriously has blown my mind throughout my entire life. What a gift to be alive throughout all his work. Oppenheimer in theaters was so incredible. During the nuke countdown you couldn’t hear a single breath in that entire theater. It was filled to the rim with people, and nobody made a whisper during the countdown. Such a surreal experience.

Blade Runner 2049 is my favorite shot film, the cinematography by Deacons is a masterclass in scale and composition

Nolan's cinematography is always beautiful, truly some of my favorite movies in recent years, Ford v. Ferrari and Dune, glad to see Indiana Jones 4 in this list, that atomic explosion scene was insane🤯

Schofield stumbling across and going his way through a burning french town in 1917 has to be one of the most underrated movie scenes of all time.

My favorite ratios: 1.85:1 - Great and historic compromise between width and height. It can show tall things like buildings or gigantic stature creatures and focused close-ups with great precision, but without sacrificing width beyond what is necessary, which is wide enough for certain movies, no longer having that “boxy” appearance of narrow ratios; 2.00:1- Used with some frequency nowadays, it is similar to the previous one but with a slightly more "epic" scope, while also featuring a very considerable height; 2.20:1 - Very wide and epic, focuses on the environment and shows grand and dramatic panoramas; 2.35:1/2.39:1 - It’s like a version of the previous one, but with a little more steroids. It is, for me, the pinnacle of epic and vast frames. Below 1.85 and above 2.39 I don't like it because then the frame starts to become either narrow or low in height.

People seem to confuse themselves between good cinematography and good film with a great story. Doesn't matter how good the cinematography is, it would have zero effects on the film if the film have weak story

Man the editing is amazing.

Honestly, after seeing everyone here basically naming each and every one of Nolan's catalogue, it's insane to see such a stacked lineup of films under 1 director's belt. Do you know how absurd it is to have a film like Dunkirk in your bag? That film would literally be a dream for any other director, but for Nolan? It's just another impressive mark on his roster that also includes The Dark Knight, Memento, The Prestige, Oppenheimer, Interstellar and probably a lot more that I can't remember. Goddamn.

The most amazing cinematography scene for me is the One with Superman in BVS. The lady reaching her hand to him. It is absolutely brilliant. Plus Zack Snyder is one of the best cinematographer along side with Nolan.
