I know many character designs use shapes for their structural influence, but hearing that Meg's design was based on Greek pillars and vases is really fascinating.
Oh heavens YES! Megara was among my fave Disney character looks. Her face is so unique, even against other animated female characters within Disney and outside! And I didn't know about the fact her foundation is based on columns and vases! Truly a Greek heroine
@@Shrek5fullmovie4K70fps 🙄Was adding the clown thing even necessary? I'm NOT even joking here!😡 My story ideas are 100% non-political, I'll have you know! I'm 100% serious about what I say!
@@annien.1727 Hey, I get it that you're very passionate about making your own ideas for storyboarding/characters, but don't get your hopes too high if an animation company rejects you or worse.... Make you sweat blood and tears into making your project and they give you in return little to no pay. Sorry if I sound a little pessimistic, but I want to tell the harsh truth 😢
@@annien.1727 dreams are important, but life is a cruel, harsh and unfair bitch. Get you a backup in case your dream doesn't work out. And you don't need Disney to make your movies, you can do it all yourself. I highly recommend watching Gruff (a short film here on youtube) and all the shorts from the same channel. All you need is a way to tell it. Disney nowadays is a corporate shill who does nothing more than peddle pedantic crap to idiots dumb enough to swallow it. (And unless you're a minority who's story hasn't been told, forget about it.)
Don't forget that Gerald Scarfe did a lot of concept design for Hercules, and you can especially see his influence in the monster designs! If you're unfamiliar with his work, he made the animations for Pink Floyd's The Wall
Yesrs ago i taked to a classmate about hercules and they said its bad simply because how inacurate it is to greek mythology and i told them " you really dont want to go down that route " cause alot of disney films are innacurate , not just hercules
“historically accurate” is what you expect from documentaries or history books or autobiographies. not disney movies. and if they even went down that route, you’d probably wouldn’t like it because most fairytales or myths did not have happy endings.
I just rewatched Hercules last two weeks, I was admiring the designs of the characters several days ago. And I just watched a video about it 2day. I'm hoping for a Atlantis Lost Empire video, data movie is superunderated and deserved more
I like the way they designed her hair because to me it really emphasizes how much she had on her mind vs how little she had to hold it with. I mean I could argue that most characters are pretty slim but she did feel very waif-ish , and Hades being such a drain on her
