A "Style Uniform" video would be fantastic! Thanks for making this video, it's helpful to think about what styles we wear everyday and might purchase again.
I use my*jklux* as a work bag and have had no issues at all. It’s a comfortable bag, fits a good amount and hadn’t lost its shape. With that being said, I also take care of all my bags and don’t carry a water bottle, pens, keys or anything that can damage the interio.
This might be one of your best videos so far, Katie! I hit the like button as soon as I started watching and I absolutely did not change my mind. (You know you've gotten damn GOOD at content creation when people start liking your videos before they've even watched them, btw. 😂) Also, my style is quite different from yours but surprisingly I agreed with almost every item you chose, because you were so thoughtful in your approach! ❤ I'd love to see an outfit formulas video. Very well done! 😊
I love this concept; it really helps me hone in on my favorites and most-worn pieces. After having my 5th baby just a few months ago, so little fits me and I am finding that I need to repurchase things in my current size which I never thought would be the reason for creating a “capsule wardrobe”! Also I appreciate how you describe these as YOUR basics! Not a “you must have these in your wardrobe too” list. You give such freedom for interpretation that it makes those with different style preferences still be able to use this video! My staples would be…. A Lucky Brand boho blouse. I am realizing how much I rely upon the couple that I have. I pair my cream one with everything. It’s like my basic top but bohemian. Colorful printed maxi skirt in cotton. Also a solid print peasant skirt with tiers. A tee shirt from The Mountain with an animal graphic on it (wolves, moose, bison, or eagles 🦅 🦬 🐺) A vintage American Eagle Outfitters oversized boyfriend button down (wear on its own, or as a layer) A knee length denim skirt (I like The Main Street Exchange. They have colors like cream and burgundy and olive as well, and you can dress them up or down) Flared pants (probably Free People or Three Bird Nest or the like?) A silk scarf (one silk square for also using as a headband, and one a gauzy viscose for summer/winter) A Fossil leather crossbody purse. A boho hippie bag with colorful fabric. For shoes - I wear boots more than running shoes, so probably a pair of boots (I love the leather and suede boots from Thursdays Boots- I have a brown Chelsea pair and a tall leather riding boot) and Birkenstock sandals. And a pair of gladiator sandals for summer.
I have a new favorite shoe that might fit your brief for sneakers/trainers: Van's Mary Janes in all black. They are so comfortable with a slim profile, but the black ones especially genuinely don't look casual. I fully admit they were an impulse purchase on my end, but I know they'll be my go to this summer.
Really useful video Katie thank you for making it. I agree with your view that we are all now dressing the same and that a pop of colour can elevate the 'same' look. And good tips too for having a useful capsule wardrobe.
This was very comprehensive in one video!! Great job!! And what I love the most is that it was not prescriptive allowing for people to develop their style. ❤️
Great video! You read my mind about the everyone touting the same “must have” basics and it drives me crazy! It’s too prescriptive and definitely isn’t helpful for discovering your own personal style
Your videos are a gem! And besides the awesome topics here, I stayed up all night researching these brands you are using as guides in this video. Just found myself several new websites to empty my wallet! 😅❤
Love your videos so much. Especially for all your Sézane contend. I have to tell you....we just got a Sézane PopUp store in Washington DC which is just across the river from me. Spend 3 hrs there yesterday, but I can't wait to go back. ❤❤❤❤
To be fair, I individuality was never the norm. There always was a very distinct style -fashion or interiors, that is why we have a very specific aesthetic for every century or even decade, for the past century at least 😉 There were people who did things differently back then just like there are people who do things differently right now, the difference is that a lot of the context that reaches you is part of the mainstream trends!
I still love my LV reverse monogram*jklux* clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
