I grew up in Missouri and the Ozarks are a great camping destination. We had friends who outfitted an old blue and white school bus into an RV before there were any. Fresh blueberry pancakes. I have camped all over the US of A and it's a look ways different. I especially like waking up to a nice rain storm and a few bolts of lightning and ground shaking thunder. Lullaby for sleeping. Enjoy.
If you guys need a place to crash in Western PA or Western NY, we'll be happy to host! We have a place just North of Pittsburgh, and also have a lake house in Van Buren Bay, NY just outside of Dunkirk/Fredonia. Kids are off at college, so plenty of space available.
Some years back (2002, I think) I found myself in Scranton simply because it between where I was going from and where I was going to and it was bedtime. Found a Steamtown flyer in the hotel lobby and would up staying an extra day to visit Steamtown. If you have any interest in old railroads Steamtown is definitely a place worth visiting.
I am a hiker and we definitely have a hiker midnight. Just like the cruisers. Here in Florida we have free camp sites too with a permit from the water management districts and some other departments. I would assume there are some car camping spots, but I'm more familiar with the back country backpacking spots. I'm going to be up hiking the full length of the Long Trail in Vermont starting on the 9th. I'm already pretty pretty excited. Seeing the big deciduous forest in your video taken it to the next level.
So I pay YT to cut out the many commercials, so now you guys (and other YT Channels too) do your own commercials. just wonderful! Hit that Mute button-
You need to learn to make fermented red onions and put them in the fridge for your hot dogs. It improves gut health and isn’t as strong as fresh onions. Just slice up a couple of red onions, mix 1 tbsp sea salt with 4 cups of water and put that in a quart mason jar. I use a air lock lid and let it sit on a counter for 3 days, then put it in the fridge to eat. It stores for a bit and you now have red onions for salads, hamburgers, hot dogs, eggs. I had some a while ago, with salmon and eggs over some Killer Dave’s wheat toast. Last night was a broccoli and chicken salad, fermented red onions and jalapeños.
Y'all need to get a camping shower! It's a 5 gallon vinyl bag that you heat up in the sun and it has a shower nozzle on the end. Hang it up anywhere and have a comfy shower! They sell them every where camping stuff is!

Well guys, it looks like you're heading to Michigan after being in Pennsylvania and Ohio. It's a nice place with lots of shore and beach. If you're going to the UP you better make it quick because it gets fall up there pretty quickly. Keep the good stuff coming.
This. Was awesome. Didn't know what to expect with the change from on-the-water to over-the-land, but you both (and Jetty too) nailed a home run with this one.
If you guys want a cool camp area when you hit Washington state look up Boulder cave and right next to it is Halfway Flat camp grounds it an amazing place to camp and you can hike over to the trail that takes you up to the cave and waterfall.
Nice campsite. Waterfalls are always amazing! I am enjoying your terra firma adventures very much but, still looking forward to your new boat. -- Jessica from Jacksonville 🌞
Thanks for the memories from our early marriage many years ago when we camped and hiked. I could smell the forest and campfire. I absolutely love the sound of a babbling brook.
Great meeting you Sierra, sorry it wasn't a happier time. It is my understanding that we are first cousins once removed. Email me for help with the new boat. Happy trails.
Wait to you get to Michigan. Besides the great lakes you can camp in all the state and national forest areas. Check out Pidgeon River for rustic camping. Mid september is the rut for elk.
The Loyalsock. Flashback to when I was 10 years old training for my first 100+ mile thru-hike along part of the Appalachian Trail running through PA. Glad to see it is so well maintained after all the passing decades.
PA, where I was born and raised. I miss being out in the woods hiking and camping. Soon I'll be back to doing it after I deliver the boat to her new owners in Oct.
Those folding grills are clever. How did you lose some vegetables? I've been truck camping many times and I don't recall wanting to go to bed very early. We'd usually have a fire and hang out by it well into the night, enjoying the stars and outdoor sounds and whatever.
Thanks for showing that part of PA. I have to remember that Philli and Pittsburgh are the exception and 99% of the start is beautiful. Very Zen and wonderful episode.
Wonderful video fantastic view's of the hiking trails with a great music overlay. Showering in a stream at dusk with Sierra hmmmm what is there to think about?
As you head West, be careful of letting Jetty drink river and creek water, blue green algae is present in the later months of Summer and that is bad news for doggies. Love the adventure! Go find the "Avenue of the Giants" biggest trees in the world.
It's cool watching you do this cool camping thing but I'm ready for you to be back on the boat foraging for food and free diving out in the boonies somewhere. Take care.
Jetty will love this trip more than ya'll! Hope she's on some kind of Tick treatment. I've lived in states along your western path all my life and the Frontline Plus chewable's are a must! Have fun!!!
Grew up in Oregon with similar trails and parks… so In Flori-da… I had a babbling broke installed in our pool…. Perfect… + a Hot Tube at the head of the Babbling Brook…. Perfect for the a late night Rendezvous… On Hole 13…. 😎 Great Vid you’s guys… keep it up!!
ive camped all over ohio, if youre on 70 stop by buckeye lake, its pretty cool for a night or 2, not very primitive, but wayne national park is, also hocking hills, tar hollow just south of 70 are pretty nice, hocking hills was my favorite. lots of trails and water falls
Thank you! Love following your adventures. Especially like the camp site tips since we do some Scamping since April. We might find this spot since we'll be in that region in October.
When we were young we made sure there was lots of fire wood. We would stay up gathered around the fire late into the night, drinking, laughing, socializing or maybe just star gazing. Those were the days. Now days how ever, when it gets dark, I go to bed.
Hopefully your adventures lead you to the upper peninsula of Michigan, if you liked that area you'd love the Pictured Rocks National Park. Isle Royale is awesome too.
Ive been watching yall for a while now, and if your in PA you have to go up to lake erie to the town of North East. Its almost picking season for the grape vineyards
Great video! That bridge you crossed probably had a plaque with my great grandfather's name on it. As interior secretary of Pennsylvania one of his responsibilities included signing off on all the designs of bridges built back then and that bridge looks to be of his era. I grew up just a stone's throw from where you camped, too. Thanks for showing off the Keystone State!
The footage you took during the hike was gorgeous! It must have taken a long time to set up and take down cameras to get all those different and very picturesque angles.
I love 💘your life u look so happy magical traveling around to beautiful spots .and jetty wit u she so cute and loving ❤ life and she has the best life wit u both.you are a special couple .x
Just wanted you to know that I noticed the choices in shooting and editing. You guys are getting really good at it. The forest and falls scenes were choice.
