Ethan Altmann I think some clips were amazing but there are some freestylers who act like clowns and that is something that is making fs boring like Mathieu clips for example (no hate to him but that clip was awful) pact 9 will be crazy I think. good luck!!
Everyone is free to do whatever they wish to do, but freestyle is no longer all about lowers. Of course you're free to only practice or watch lowers, that's totally fine and I myself can appreciate that in its purity as well. If you're saying that freestyle is moving towards different styles than just pure lowers, then yes, you're right. But I can't agree with your statement here. You're just wrong saying that it has become boring. Nowadays, freestyle is more fresh and interesting than ever before. You can either stick to the past or embrace the new - everyone has to decide for themselves....What I personally love about todays freestyle is the fact that people mix together all different styles.
Tek Neek you don't have to agree with me but you also can't say I'm wrong, I've only expressed my opinion! And what I personally dislike about today's freestyle is that people are mixing styles too much! I get bored watching this 'flowy creative' stuff, I don't get bored watching hard lowers...that's just me
I do not think that the problem is so much the mixing of styles itself that is making freestyle boring, but the fact that a lot of freestylers, when they do mix styles, only use watered down tricks and do not take enough time to think about how to properly structure a combo. I think this is the reason that for you and me "flowy creative stuff" is incredibly difficult to watch. It lacks structure. But pure lowers is not the only way to structure a proper hardcore combo that can be breathtaking to watch. Just look at Briano's clip from this month, or check out Keisuke's, Sana's, or even my own instagram. Talking about blocks especially, they largely are considered boring only because most freestylers have no clue how to add sufficient structure and complexity to them, and I think this is the root of this phenomenon of freestyle seeming more and more "boring." : )
Tek Neek sven , an advice . put the time of the ( clip of the mounth ) in this comment in every video of this type (this is football freestyle) and the name of the freestyler like this 2:19 Brian
Personally, I believe Shatalovs Skora NT with eclipse should have been clip of the month, but it was a very hard decision as many of these clips are absolutely stunning!
It was more of a "filler" between clips, sometimes I need a short combo in between long clips so the rest fits to the music...I wanted to feature Mathieu's full clip but at the end of editing, it was too long...thanks for your feedback!
How's your juggling? If you can't juggle the ball really well using different parts of your body, then start with that + sitdown juggling and some technically easier tricks like flick ups, stalls and simple blocking tricks. Definitely check learn2freestyle and similar channels for tutorials ;)
Spend about a week working on "feeling" the ball out don't worry too much about tricks. Then start working on neck stalls, sits, and basics. There is a huge freestyle community on instagram with loads of content to get you inspired
