I also suffered from bad joint and back pain. I recently changed my diet. I went on carnivore diet. With in days to a week I noticed a huge difference in my pain. Now I have next to no joint or back pain. I'm a bit out of shape. I recently went on a 14 km mountain hike. Thought I wasn't going to be able to get back to my camper. I thought I'd be absolutely sore and stiff. And I wasn't even stiff. No soreness. I was amazed. Not saying it's going to help you, but it's done amazing for me. Good luck on your health recovery.

Mr. Jonathan . . . You are plenty young enough for those injuries to heal ! When I was in my early 30's I was sitting on the couch with my legs stretched out in front of me when my 3 yr old came running a dived for my lap , well she landed across my knees and bent them backwards . It hurt worse than a major stock market loss ! After that , any time I squatted down a knee would pop out of socket . . . omg it hurt to pop it back but over the years it healed and today at 70 my knees are atleast 90% . Once in a great while I'll just be walking and take a step when a knee will sort of get set wrong or something but after a couple more steps , it's like it didn't even happen. I've had the back and neck issues as well but they have all gotten better . I did stop trying to be a super human and trying to lift way more than I should , which is all I have to attribute the healing to and staying active which I think is the most important thing. I offer this as encouragement to you ! Keep doing what you do , don't let it make you afraid to do what you want to do ! AT 70 , I mow 26 yards this summer and manage to fish a couple times a week . . . . stay active ! I don't know about anyone else but I notice you make cooking a big part of your videos . I personally could care less , I can do that everyday. I watch for the scenery that I can't see in Oklahoma . You could just drive through the PNW country side and video , never even have to get out of the truck and I would watch every video ! Just a thought for ya !

If physical therapy isn’t producing real results, consider a visit to a (new) sports med doc and/or physical therapist. They aren’t all created equal, nor do they all have the same skills. If you have the option, find someone who works with pro athletes. Good luck because you are far too young to have your health deteriorating at this rate. My husband is extremely incapacitated after spinal surgery, largely brought on by the very thing he thought would keep him in shape: playing golf. It may work for most, but the neurosurgeon said it worked completely against him.

Acupuncture is really great, but absolutely only use a highly Asian trained Acupuncturist. Your knee probably won't heal because you may likely have cartilage damage which will not heal, but surgery can help alleviate some pain by shaving damaged cartilage. Good Luck 🤞

Both of my femurs were crushed, left tibia, right knee and half of my ribs were broken in a wreck. It took me four years to recover from the wreck. The last two years have been arthritis hell from the top of my neck to my all of the bones in my feet. You have to fight back against your injuries. Get out and do some of the things that you love to do even if you can't do all of them. Don't let a doctor tell you all you can have is high dose ibuprofen. I take gabapentin and Diclofenac. They work pretty good but I push myself beyond my limits. May good health, happiness and fortune be yours.

Hey Jonathan, I feel your pain with the injuries. Going outside and being active is a huge part of my life and obviously yours. I felt quite defeated after going to physical therapy multiple times in the course of 4 years. I finally checked out a chiropractor and I have felt so much better! It took about a year to start seeing results but looking back on how I felt vs now. I would highly recommend looking into chiropractic care, especially for the neck issue

I’m right there with ya buddy, I’m 27 and I’ve started to notice a lot of the same things, along with my metabolism catching up to me finally. I spent the last weekend walking roughly 20 miles a day and was very surprised I could pull that off, but it showed me I’m still not out of the running yet, even with aches and pains and low energy. I’m working on all this now and it is well worth it I can assure you, I’m glad you are as well!

I used to have the same issues and it turned out my spine was out of alignment. A chiropractor could probably make a couple of adjustments and give you instant relief. Definitely worth a shot. My back and neck and right knee usually flare back up every couple of years and I go back to my chiro and he fixes me up in 2 visits.

I've become a lot more conscious of my health in the recent years. I started fasting, cut back on sugary drinks, cut back on the amount of food that come in plastics and I've always been wary of pharmaceuticals, which have so many negative side effects to barely treat one thing. What you put in your body can have an affect on your body as well, so keep eating healthy!

The neck and shoulder area can be a difficult area to treat. Have your physicians confirmed that it's not pain being telegraphed from a different (damaged) location? Did they feel you have inflamed neck tendons? Neck/shoulder tendonitis can be challenging to treat, as they general, have limited blood flow. Hence, blood needed for repair is constricted. As you are younger, you would have a slightly less problem with this, for your tendons would be "meatier" [poor term] . You may try ingesting foods that temper inflammation, such as cayenne pepper, jalapeno peppers, etc. they contain capsaicin witch can aid with inflammation. (I put cayenne pepper in my hot tea). I also agree with the individual who suggested a sports medicine physician, may be a better route, than a GP. for your knee you may want to try wearing a compression sleeve 24/7 for a while. Those can be amazing. I'm not a physician, nor am I in the medical or pharmaceutical field, in any capacity. I only speak from personal experience. BTW, love your vids! 👍

Hey Jonathan, just wanted to reiterate what another military member said. Take the time to recover the right way and slowly get back to your normal level. I have several chronic injuries from the Army and one thing that I’ve learned is once you get to a stable place it’s very important to do daily maintenance to make sure you don’t backslide. This can be stretching, heat/cold exposure, exercises, yoga or whatever it may be. Best of luck man, you’ll get there!

Injuries suck. I've been in the military for 17 years now and had my first knee surgery last September. The recovery has taken longer than I thought it was going to. I am a very active person. I work out, run, hike, and spend a lot of my time outdoors. Slowing things down to recover has been extremely difficult for me. One thing I learned, the hard way, is to actually take the time to recover. Do not push yourself before you are ready. You may make your injuries worse in the end.

I also struggled with back pain for years and then knee problems and, for me, not saying it’s the same for you, it all came to emotional problems creating physical ones and, unfortunately, most physical therapists don’t know how to make the connection and solve the problem. A good holistic therapist will be able to help you heal the emotional stuff to make the energies and blood flow better, also making inflammation go away. Do dry ice regularly/daily, it’s amazing to reduce inflammation! (Dry ice it’s ice on those blue bags that you see boxers put between rounds, in case you don’t know what it is ahah). 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I agree with some of the comments to make sure you have the best docs/PTs for YOU. My first orthopedic doctor was a nightmare. And I didn’t like my PT, either. (I have had severe RA most of my 60+ years.) Found a new Ortho doc and new PT group, and couldn’t be more satisfied! I now have a nine-year-old hip, and a one-year-old knee. I’ve lost the ability to do many things as the degenerative RA continues to take its toll, but I still get out there and do what I CAN. I’ve just had to change my expectations, perspective, and adapt to what I CAN do. I recently got back from a three-day camping trip on the eastern shore in MD/VA! I use a mobility scooter and camp in my RAV. Not knowing the extent of your injuries, I can only hope that your positive attitude and drive to address them leaves you with MANY years of adventuring and YouTubing ahead! ❤ On a different note, thanks so much for the recipe for the tzatziki sauce. I LOVE that stuff. 😊 Love your cooking segments!

I would look into Ehlors-Danlos syndrome. People with EDS tend to suffer for a long time from past injuries, where the pain comes and goes at varying levels. Some days are surprisingly great, and some days are lay-in-bed-and-do-nothing. Physical therapy helps EDS symptoms, but it has to be tailored to that particular disorder. Not saying there's a great chance you have it, but many people don't know it exists.

Have you tried aqua jogging? Wear a float belt and run in the deep end. It is great rehab for runners. It may work to strengthen your knees and hips.

I got the knife. It’s awesome. I’m 74 and my chiropractor keeps me mobile. Try it.

Hi, I’m a X Massage therapist and spent my life being athletic growing up in Cali / Colorado mountains and have bone on bone on my ankles very painful and need shoulder surgery because of some muscles that are torn . I found a pain reliever that when I spray on my pain goes away it’s magnesium oil which is actually just epsom salt. I use a brand Kaiame green bottle . Magnesium helps muscles fire and not all minerals will penetrate the skin and get absorbed but this oil will . It’s like 13 dollars give it a try . Good luck

Jonathan, I wish you well on your health 🙏 ❤. Please research the certain foods that dramatically affect types of pain, especially muscle and tendon pain. I have many of the issues you mentioned and avoiding certain foods helps me greatly. I often pick and choose days that I can indulge myself with foods like tomatoes, onions, garlic, white or brown beans, etc. Seriously, there are days that eating any of the above mentioned will set off multiple muscle pains. Try writing down what you eat and drink. Everything. Then rate your pain for 24 hours from 1-10 (10 being the MAX PAIN LEVEL). Omit an item and gage it again 24 hours later. Take your data sheet with you to your doctor for their review. Ask them to discuss your list with you during your next visits. Doing this was a life-saver 🙌 for me. In my youth and my younger adult life I was an Ice Skater and taught it for some time. Needless to say, body metrics and body injuries come with the sport. Health can be such a fleeting fancy in our lives, good 👍 that you are seeking help now. Best of wishes always ❤.

I am a fan of acupressure including how to do it on yourself and how to use a knobble, a small piece of wood shaped like a thumb to press on muscle points to release tension, such as don't be afraid to do it on your neck for two hours while driving down the road. Use common sense and under a doctor's care, of course. It healed me of chronic pain after a car wreck. Louis Hay might say you don't feel supported, as the back is a body metaphor for feeling supported. Very best wishes for healing.
