With all due love and respect, the song is nothing without the additional choir, Orchestra, and let us not forget the passionate- almost Bernstein level passionate- baton of Mr.Elfman.
You can tell this isn’t just another gig for them. These are professional voice actors who absolutely love what they do, and they’re practically animated as they perform this song! Very, very inspiring!
@@rohanroll Heck yeah, we were real! We were singing all of the character voice parts between the five of us (Greg Proops, Baraka May, Fletcher Sheridan, Angie Jaree, and myself, Randy Crenshaw). I was the voice of the mayor, and many other voices!
That’s because these people www the vice actors of the song in the movie 20+ years ago. And they sound a little different because when they age, so do their voices!🖤🤍🖤
I agree! I’m just now finding this and as a (mediocre) musician myself I would love to do this kind of performance accompanying a movie, so I find this absolute impressive
Holy Shit - These people, minus Glenn Shadix (mayor) and Ken Page (Oogie Boogie), are five of the nine original background voices to the film. Also missing is Carmen Twillie who also sang Circle of Life at the beginning of Lion King.
The film came out in 1993, I remember going to see it, and was totally blown away by the songs, not to mention how smooth the stop motion animation was
I'm still geeking out over this. It isn't the fact that three of the featured 5 singers are Greg Proops, Danny Elfman, and Glenn Shadix (Otho on Beetlejuice), it's the fact that I finally get to see the actual application of how Greg Proops was lending his vocal talents. He is so underappreciated on Whose Line...
Why not every day of every month I have been watching this movie for 9 years and I am 10 I did not need to add the last part but I did It's like a fun fact.
As a beginning performer, I'm just thrilled and really appreciate the fact that they wouldn't come in earlier to stay and wait, but they just started singing in the exact moment they had entered their spots. You're probably quite nervous even if you're experienced, you have just wasted your breath on walking and you need to prepare for certain character's voice - but they just start at once!
I will love always this fantastic animation, musical and of course the amazing socreo of the genius Danny Elfman!! you`re a genius Danny thanks a lot for all your music!!

Our man jack is king of the Pumpkin patch Everyone hail to the Pumpkin King, now This is Halloween, this is Halloween Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween In this town we call home Everyone hail to the pumpkin song
A wonderful performance, with excellent vocal work from everyone involved. Oh, and that's Greg Proops over there on the far left. I recognized his voice as well as his fez. 😛
The fact that this just randomly came as a recommendation is insane !' why haven't I heard this sooner?' They did an amazing performance with this👌 .. love this alot wish I was there
I just watched this last night with the commentery from Tim Burton, Danny Elfman and Henry Selick and then I see this and was LIKE man it was like the world wanted me to see this. Awesome would have loved to have seen this live. Cool for people who did. One of my favorite Disney films plus Tim Burton too.
@Ahmed Zuq Praise be to the one true Lord. In times such as these we are all brothers whether you like it or not. Allah knows what is in every heart and mine is burdened by work and duty in the name of our Earth and our Lord. We have an enemy. There are those who follow in the footsteps of Shaitan. We must not let the wicked in their ways walk among us nor allow them into our homes. Stranger, I speak as one beneath Christ. Put aside our differences for wickedness is a far greater beast. Humanity is but a single brotherhood; so make peace with your brethren. Stay true to your God and defend your brothers. If peace can only be achieved through wrath, then so be it. Our God is waiting.
Thank you! That's me, singing the Mayor for these live shows! I replaced the late, great Glenn Shadix, who voiced the mayor in the original movie, but who died back in 2010.
