Founded in 1935 with approximately 800 students and four programs of study, Hofstra has evolved into a world-class private university where nearly 11,000 students choose from hundreds of program options in the liberal arts and sciences, health professions and human services, nursing and physician assistant studies, medicine, honors studies, business, communication, education, engineering and applied science, and law.
