most of the music survival shows in korea aren't really about talent - all the contestants are talented - but about popularity, since there are huge voting components. additionally, this video missed SO MUCH of why the origin story of ateez is unique and interesting. How did Hongjoong join KQ - and why was he the company's first trainee? all the crossing connections - Seonghwa and Hongjoong, Wooyoung and Yeosang, Wooyoung and Yeonjun (of txt) and Yeonjun and San, Yunho and Mingi, the Block B concerts.... why Jongho agreed to talk to KQ... there's SO MUCH serendipity involved in the formation of Ateez. Also, you have the time arrow backwards. They were all at KQ when they auditioned for mixnine.

There’s even more to the story which would make you think it was really destiny that they came together. I loved this reaction and will be looking forward to seeing other ateez contents 🫶

Oh Mixnine was a mess and a half ... that's a whole story in and of itself. For context, it was a show where YG went to all the other smaller companies to recruit talent and give them exposure. If I'm not mistaken, by that time they were all already at KQ entertainment and presented as a group, KQ Fellaz. Only 3 of them were picked in the end. As mentioned in the video, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise that Ateez didn't get picked in the survival show. I remember being a big fan of Hongjoong even though I didn't know who he was at the time. He clearly displayed his leadership skills in the show, so I was surprised when he didn't make it to the final group. However, winning the show and promoting with the group would have delayed Ateez's debut. Thankfully, they were able to skip over a lot of time-consuming negotiations (that went nowhere) with YG regarding their contracts, and they avoided false promises. The winners were the most affected by the delay. Despite being promised a debut, it never happened, causing them to lose a significant amount of time. Apparently, the different companies involved couldn't agree on the length of the promotion. I heard that a three-year promotional period was suggested for the group.

Mixnine's winners were largely comprised of those who had already debuted. 2 members of ONF. 1 from Seven O'clock. 2 from A.C.E. Two others had previous reality show experience. The only 2 who didn't have previous experience were both YG trainees. Since the ranks are being determined by viewer votes, it's a big disadvantage to be from a company that has never debuted a group. I think KQ's main goal was to get the boys some exposure to help with their debut.

this video is very very basic at the surface level of ateez’s past and struggles so I can’t wait until you can get to the big guide! ofc the guide doesn’t cover every detail, but you’ll eventually find out more fun facts through different interviews and shows (ex: k star next door is one that mentions hongjoong’s trainee days a bit and the members recently talked about some of their trainee days on IDOL RADIO for Bouncy promotions) and yeah, mixnine was relatively unimportant in their “destiny/fate” of coming together, KQ already had all the members at that point, and I’m pretty sure KQ sent them onto Mixnine for publicity… (many companies can do this trick)

Nah you better watch the long guide, you will appreciate them even more because of what they have been through.

Before debut when they did the Mixnine show, the guys were already set to debut. They mostly went on the show for experience and to give some of the other participants an idea of want they will be up against. They were never going to make Mixnine as they belonged to another company(KQ) and Mixnine was a YG show.

yea low key this video isn't the best to learn about ATEEZ's backstory (legit mixnine is the least interesting part of their backstory)...! So i can't wait till you get to the full 2023 ATEEZ guide!! Yeah it's long, but trust me, it's SO so much better than all these smaller videos that people have made x

They have been hinting for a comeback so people are guessing it will be around he end of november or december! People have been throwing theories that it will be alice in the wonderland themed based on the pic ateez airdropped to atiny during one of the concerts they were attending to. They also had a big billboard bought near the venue that had the halateez on it and a big target sign at them

Why did i feel like his information was mixed up and back to front etc definitely not the best thing to watch to learn about ateez you can watch that long guide also you have there kq fellaz show also you have code name show which is about there debut there first debut song etc
