helmets don't really help with brain damage (unless you're doing the loop or something with insane G's), they help with skull fractures EDIT: in fact the amount of times I and friends have barely avoided hitting our heads on the ground, the added size and weight to our head would have caused more hard impacts and contributed to more brain injury

If by "brain damage" you mean 'concussion' then yes...helmets do not prevent concussions...but neither do unprotected human skulls. Look, I respect your decision not to wear a helmet while skating because I don't wear one when street skating but I'm not deluding myself into thinking that it's somehow safer...because it isn't...a no-helmet impact with the ground will be more injurious to the brain than the same impact with a good helmet on...period. Andy is like the boyscout of skateboarding, always wearing a helmet, always stretching before skating, having those rails under his board while all the "cool" kids get rid of those asap. Him being able to just shred away most of the cool kids at any time just makes you love that guy.

This reminds me of someone firing the whole deck of cards from one hand to the other through the air suggesting how much potential for card tricks they have stored up in there. This is just the tip of the ice berg of skating talents. It gave me a flash back to when I was a kid and had this euphoria about learning to ollie up and down kerbs and keep going for ages staying as cool as possible.

Skate starters hahah! That's great! I remember they put a bunch of skate stopper small poles things on the manual pads at my old University in like 2002, and people would just combo tricks over them.

Honestly Andy has ruined all other skate videos for me. Watching other skaters is watching them do tricks and then roll away, whereas watching Andy is just watching a guy move through space on a board as creatively and as joyously as possible. Awesome creativity and awesome attitude where anything from sketchy back-alley spots and fire hydrants to cheese and $10 sunglasses is a delight, and an occasion to appreciate life.
Definitely enjoyed thos day in the life type video. I would love to see this as a new series type with other skaters like Zach Doelling or John Bradford.

Easy to be a nice and humble skateboarder when you are not starving on the street or locked up when not deserving it and constantly fighting. It's really hard out there people. I never wanted to be famous or whatever skateboarding but I never thought I would want to quit it. I have been thinking about making a video just explaining that I think I just quit skateboarding. I have been skateboarding since I was 12 and 32 now and is the love of my life and it hurts being told I'm going to be one of the best skaters in the world only to be treat the way I have. The problem I have is that I can't forget it and so I don't want to bring my life into skateboarding and so I'm out. Not searching for sponsorship or whatever you want to call stuff. I see people getting rich off of the exact same painting I can do and the world could offer me the same thing right now but honestly I think I would rather die with the bums. I feel the same way about the vaccinated and unvaccinated being treated differently and if any of you say that a person can't go into a pub then I'm staying outside with the person refused entry. Sorry for the random rant I just needed to say that to the world and get it off my chest. A beautiful art I now find more disappointing than fun. I will subscribe to your channel though you seem like cool people. Having a " I'm spiderman no more " moment but my younger days are not coming back. Just fighting now.
back in the day I did a trip to Venice, saw some dude in a weird helmet goin crazy shredding the park, little did I know I seen one of the best in the making that day
I knew Andy when he was a child...he wasn't actually wasn't as good as many of the kids @ China Creek or in Vancouver...and I wish the best for all those kids in their lives....what I note as important beyond his incredible character was infectious desire to have fun and make others happy....I'm proud of Andy not for his skateboarding..and we all can see why in his skateboarding...CHINA CREEK!!!!

When I see Andy skate it reminds of the feeling when I was a child and would get completely lost in a new game or toy. He seems like a really nice person also.
