What kind of a glass cutter does a pro like you prefer to use? I'm assuming the ones I have are garbage. Can a guy assume that any glass cutter that's oil-filled is probably good quality?
Yeah an oil filled cutter works best. And I think the size of the cutter wheel makes a difference. I've been using the same one for 20 years & don't remember the specifics, but they come from crlaurence
Why tapping with plies, is that running crack on score?? I have to trim sides also thinking of using Dremel tool with water what u think? Doing a 57 Chevy truck front and back windows
When using a hand cutter...you can cut any direction you want.... traditionally you would pull towards you on your cuts and always use your cutter the same direction this is how your cutting wheel will wear down even...tc15 is usually the best head to get ...they only cost 20 bucks...they are on Amazon all day....you can get cheaper cutters just make sure you get one and the head is at least a " Toyo" brand.." Toyo 17 " is good also..good for 1/8" -1/4"-3/8"-1/2"
Windshields are typically laminate...which is 2 layers of 1/8" glass sandwich together with PVB Which means it's required to cut both side in order to complete cuts on this style of glass
I sure wish you had set the camera where we could see what you were doing. We are looking at your back and your elbow blocking the view. And set the camera close enough that we could hear what you were saying.
