Joe Gomez is and always has been so underrated. Can play anywhere in defense and always does a good job. Even in this new and unfamiliar inverted role. Players like him often go unnoticed, but are invaluable for their teams and managers.
The injuries over the years stunted him quite a bit, but he seems to have gone up some gears..... as fans we owe out thanks to the top notch medical staff at LFC.
Can't wait for Poch to swallow his pride and park the bus at Wembley for the cup final, only for Nunez to inexplicably score a worldie in stoppage time to win it, after missing a sitter against the post earlier in the match!
@@franalytics5995 Less than one per side, and as I said two are on his team so he'd be the top/joint top scorer on at least 7 PL sides (it's actually 9 if I'm not mistaken). That's pretty strong for someone who "can't score in an empty net"
Simply put, one team is a well-oiled machine while the other is just a bunch of individuals being put together without solid foundations or identity laid by the manager. It’s crazy that Chelsea still play without identity and not playing as a team even after Poch is there for 8 months now
@@ThatBoyKlink and you have to remember that us the fans didn’t have a choice in making our voices heard about him being our manager. The final 3 candidates were Poch, Postecoglou, and Ruben Amorim, 3 managers who aren’t Chelsea material. While Enrique got rejected by the board and Nagelsmann rejected our club due to the lack of foundations that are present at the club and he’s right in that sense. Getting rid of him wouldn’t be a proper solution cuz they would much rather have a yes man being the manager instead of employing world class ones
@@ThatBoyKlinkAs this will change anything...This ownership has the funny idea that a coach should not have the final word in recruiting hence the idiotically assembled team of kids( a dozen or so) with little experience but with " high ceiling". Poch is faltering alright but this will happen with anybody else " in charge" and the next coach will be a yesman by default. Until clear whatever and Boehly are the owners this is our lot.
I was just set aback by Nkunku, I thought he was a great prospect for the future, but he turns 27 this year. Dont get me wrong, he seemed really dangerous at times, but I thought he was younger.
Thank you for the efforts in the insight! I really think Pocchettino set them up with the wrong mentality because if you dont fully commit to the press, you are going to be vulnerable and exploit your own half spaces. I will made a dedicated video on this on the Liverpool fan in Japan channel but it is definitely the key to the current set up to get Gomez inverted to overload the middle as the pivot whilst also adding a forward defensive layer. Great video
4 posts for Nunez means it could have been worse. TAA now has some much needed competition and I think Bradley deserves the start over him. TAA is the most overrated player because English football loves long balls/diagonals, but Bradley didn’t play many and as a result there were numbered advantages on the flanks and the counter pressing was more effective when possession was lost. Plus with Salah gone the team performs better. I’ve always known that the right side was an issue (TAA & Salah) but because there was a lack of competition it wasn’t obvious.
Not sure i agree with your views. Great that we have new blood flowing through, but a few performances don’t make a career. Looking at TAA assist stats how can you be so dismissive…. And Salah comment… really? They are both proven long term performers… hmmm 🤔🤔Cant help wondering, are you trolling?
Only time will tell. I don’t ignore the past contributions in saying that TAA is overrated, I just recognize that he has been placed into a system where RB/LB are the primary source of assists. Put him on another team (England for instance) and his numbers wouldn’t be as spectacular. Defensively though, he’s sloppy and unaware at times and can switch off at the wrong moments. His defensive issues coupled with the fact that he regularly has unsuccessful crosses/longballs are why I say he is overrated. It’s the system that makes him stand out above the others-he’s above average and Bradley deserves to challenge for his spot. Salah: phenomenal player, but look at the statistics for how Liverpool play when he is not present, they don’t lose. Is it only because of him, no, but his absence does play a part. Salah from 2-3 season ago was quicker and now he can’t reliably pick the ball up wide and cut in to shot/score-so he assists. Not a bad things but a reality. We can disagree. I’m not bashing them, but I see the game a little differently than most, and sometimes stats, when interpreted in isolation, overlook systems and tactics. Either way I’m happy that finally there is a challenge for the RB position (it’s been long overdue) and that it coincided with Salah being gone so a 2nd right sided team could get some game time (Bradley, Szobo/Elliot, Jota/Diaz).
Bradley was everywhere and sometimes even as a winger role, Gomez is exceptional and has been phenomenal as a LB, CBs were amazing, Midfield was on top, and front 3 were top
I've got some tactics I've been working on. Would like to share them with you.>> Attacking phase.. RB CB CB DM LB CM ST CAM RW LW The wingers are high and wide. The CM plays as a 10. The ST and CAM are narrow and alongside each other. The LB/RB occasionally make overlapping runs. Thoughts?
That totally depends on the team, league, opponents and specially the players...Without either context or footage, it's actually impossible to give you an opinion.
I heard Klopp put on a Poch mask and went into Chelsea dressing room. Told them to play rope adopy until the last min of tome added. Worked for Ali he said. 😢
It's weird how the same teams played back in august and Chelsea had a far greater possession and slightly dominated that game to now be completely outclassed.
@@Barbariansdagger he didn't lol that's the issue. Guys have regressed under Poch when his one true calling card was he is supposed to be a developer of young talent. Also Liverpool just playing miles better than they were in August
@@ThatBoyKlink Yeah everyone knows Liverpool is playing better because they are an established team while Chelsea is a team with players that didn't even knew eachother's names at the beginning of the season. So which player has regressed under Poch? Sterling is an overrated English bum who can't pass to save his life,Silva is getting old,Badiashile has looked awful ever since he came back,Madueke should change his name to Midueke,Chilwell is another one who is supposed to be experienced and Nkunku is just back now. How the F is Poch supposed to work on improving the youngsters when his experienced players are so pathetic? Maybe you should keep that energy for Tod and the sporting directors who think reality is the same as Football Manager!
@@Barbariansdagger I do have that same energy for them. But again Poch has dudes that are playing at a world class level in Enzo Caicedo and Palmer yet it looks disjointed every time we come up against a top team. Again Poch has had all of preseason and all of this season so far. Did we win some games and have some good performances? Yes for sure. But there is no continuity or togetherness and that comes from the manager. Starts at the top. Boehly and Co do need to take blame for hiring Poch and not getting a couple more experienced attackers that aren't Raheem shit
Being a rather crude analyst, I'd say that Liverpool pressed the living daylights out of Chelsea, particularly in the first half. That meant they won the ball high up the field and had Chelsea constantly backpedaling. The only way to play against Liverpool when they're in this mood is to park the bus and pray.
Chance to win title for Reds at around 70%. If they can beat Arsenal away next week. I put it up to 80%. Only City will be able to Challenge if the wreck the Gunners at Emirates. City have a knack of going on long winning streaks so by no means settled but Liverpool just need to keep taking maximum points and make sure it to drop 2 points when they meet defending Champions. Must win.
Cole Palmer as a fault 9 was wrong. He's an attacking midfield playmaker. He should have played right along Enzo and played Raheem as a fault 9 depending on a situation. And once Chelsea's ball movement towards Liverpool goal was nearly gone, Liverpool could do just about whatever they wanted. Against Arsenal it should be different. It's going to be about high pressing and unlock high pressing. Who do a better job have a better chance to win.
When Salah comes back, he won't have to do much. Liverpool playing better without him in the team. Kinda like Tottenham without Kane, when big players are not in the team, they team seem to perform well.
We were battered no doubt but how many times do we need to win a penalty and they don't give it to us and then when we foul it's a pen. Chillwell getting tackled by Jota on the Liverpool youngster goal. Chelsea were out played but man we never had a shot with that refeering
@@gummemoryproject6477 Yea I did. "LiVARpool" is not exactly a mature way of pushing your argument, is it? Complaining about the refereeing is valid as English referees don't know how to run the game, but every team has suffered from it this season. VAR in England is inconsistent and that has been a fact for a long time. That doesn't change the fact that Chelsea were thoroughly outplayed.
Chilwell did not "get tackled" he was the tackler, plus the Nkunku one was absolutely not a pen, the Gallagher one couldve been called though, couldve gone either way
Penalty inconsistencies along with VAR continue to be hot topics after games. If Gallaghers (penalty shout) was ruled out although VVD made clear contact with him and VVD made another poor tackle against Nkunku when kicking his foot are not penalty worthy. Then how can Jota’s be considered a straight penalty by the ref when the contact made by the studs didn’t hinder Jota as he takes a step showing no hindrance and decides to just dive . I’m a Chelsea fan thru and thru and I understand it wouldn’t change the result but I would love to hear the VAR and referee reasoning as to why those are considered nothing where the other is “clear and obvious” In an alternate dimension maybe the Gallagher one changes the game hahahaha
The biggest difference? One was given on the field, the other two weren't. Then there's the fact that Gallagher moved into VanDijk who was stationary (along with the contact being minimal, if that). Not having seen a side angle to see how much of an actual push there was in the Nkunku incident I personally would see it as a 50/50 call as we've all seen worse not given and less given. The Jota one was a stone wall stamp on the foot and trip, likely given by VAR if the ref hadn't...
He dominated also by ref not giving Chelsea the clearest of all penalties in the World. I would've loved to see them play from one behind with Chelsea in low block and 3 fast wingers sitting deep. The advantage Liverpool gets from refs is insane.
Have you seen the replay from the Chelsea goal angle? Showed quite clearly that it wasn't a penalty and only the fact that Gallagher brushed VanDijk's stationary leg as he dove (literally) past him and Tierney's anti-Liverpool bias kept it from being a yellow for simulation.
@@Samuel_mm7 don't just blame the ref Blame your squad tactical too I mean why does Chelsea still hold Silva for 90min despite his stamina can't keep up with pace players And blame Chelsea defending too Too many mistakes Plus Chelsea's mids can't challenge Liverpool's mids Palmer is also being played in the wrong position
Referee got paid off, allowed to go harder into challenges, getting pens and fouls on a plate while Chelsea get yellows for the same things. Being allowed to play at 150% intensity while your opponents are only allowed at 50% really lets you control games
He literally could have sent Gallagher off with 3 yellows in the first 10-15 minutes and ended up giving him none. Don't try and pretend that Chelsea didn't have calls go their way...
