Nepenthes bicalcarata is a lowland Nepenthes type. This Pitcher plant is easy to find in peat swamp forest. The main feature of this Pitcher Plant is the fangs at the base of the neck. N. bicalcarata can be regarded as a very unique Carnivorous Plant because of the symbiosis between this plant with certain ant species, namely Camponotus schmitzi.
In this symbiotic relationship, nepenthes gets the guard and pitcher-cleaning troops, while the ants get food in the form of nectar and / or remnants of other insect fragments that are not digested by the liquid in the bag.

Amazing to know these beautiful plants make massive traps! Some of the larger traps on this species could probably eat a mouse/rat, bird, frog, or lizard! Don’t you agree?

@@JaniartoParadise That seems like something nice to focus on. One day I might see those wild places with you. If we all keep positive, who knows what nice things will come to us in the future. Meanwhile, keep creating those beautiful videos. Seeing those plants and orchids in the wild, online is wonderful . Almost like being there for real.👍
