This is how real Uzbek flatbreads are baked in a tandoor #tandoor #bread
In Uzbekistan, bread has always been treated with deep reverence and respect. Flatbreads are sacred to Uzbeks and appear in many traditions. Be it a wedding, the birth of a child, receiving guests or a regular tea party. You can literally go nowhere without traditional bread.
Under no circumstances should the flatbread be cut with a knife, nor should it be placed face down - this is disrespect for the sacred product. The flatbreads are baked in a round shape, personifying the Sun, and their surface is necessarily decorated with various patterns, holes and notches. The patterns themselves are baked until crispy, and the edges of the product remain fluffy and airy.
