Apologies for the re-upload, everybody! Our previous version's subtitles were a little out of sync, which is now fixed. We always try to make sure that our subtitles are as accurate and digestible as possible so as not to get in the way of our storytelling. Thanks for all your support! - Steve

Chinese know the advantages and disadvantages of the WEST & China very well, neutral. So many Chinese have been to the United States. But Americans only know the disadvantages of China (Except for WEST guys who have been to China) ,They never know What is the real China? Because the mainstream media in the WEST only reports the disadvantages of China.(maybe 95%) & Then the western media said that Chinese r Thought closed... That's so so funny
@雪走-m7z
@雪走-m7z 7 лет назад
Chinese have a clear mind. It's clear who am I? What is the west? What is democracy and freedom? They know why they don't use the system of Western democracy. They use their own social system. They Know How should they go in the future??(Even western media often accuse China of not implementing the western social system. The WEST thought they r The king, if u don't follow the WEST system, then u r evil. Actually, Singapore has proved that there is still a good society without the system of Western democracy )

There exist cultural lags since east and west cultures are so different. The girl's saying is more like he is not so democratic since his decisions in politics and such is not friendly to all people. I personally think there's nothing wrong about it. Trump strongly refuse to obey lots of international agreements and he just doesn't seem to be cooperative to other countries. (Especially economically)

CCP Propaganda. Trump made it through a field of 16 candidates. The richest person rarely wins in American democracy. Mitt Romney’s wealth was regularly cited as a reason for him being evil and out of touch with common folks. It works more as a negative than a positive.

Stupid Asian boss youtube chanel, China is trying to push america out of east asia where there is american allies such as south korea and Japan. Like what is happening in South China Sea where there would be no freedom of navigation if there was no american presence. China is also buying up Australia and Europe to push american from its long standing historical allies. China is no better than Nazi germany or even worse. Remember the red revolution in china. that is real china in their beliefm theory and practice. Countries like korea, vietname, japan, philiphines have a really hostile view of china. no wonder why. we must fight chinese expansion other wise, we will die.

Yung Kim bruh, u are so funny to me. Chinese’s views on America people have been changed because people like you. When I was young, I remember all my friends(Chinese) like America a lot, they think America is a country of opportunities, freedom and love. But now people in America start to have negative views on Chinese and even start being racist. Many Chinese have saw these through internet, so their views on America has changed from peace to hate.

Storge I've read a lot of books regarding China and how they have a large college educated populace but have trouble with the job placement because the market is very competitive. Coming from a military standpoint I've also read a lot that Chinese Commanders feel that war between the US and China is inevitable. I'm a strong proponent for the basic men and women of both countries expressing de-escalation views. Asian boss may not be all encompassing but I do not want it to be. A basic insight into the daily lives of people is actually incredibly healthy and American Media can learn a lot from it.

iFoRMaTioN1 hey I stand with you against bad stereotypes. I can honestly say I've never met an Asian that I've had a bad experience with. I happen to agree with you, Stark. Most Asian's I've met/talked to have been perfectly polite, civil people. I have also met a few total assholes. Like you said - they are all individuals and need to be treated as such. Not all whites are racist assholes. Not all blacks are stupid. Not all hispanics are lazy, etc. These are all stupid stereotypes made by lazy minded people who are unwilling to think or learn. I agree with you that if we could get everyone from every country to travel more, we might be able to break these ridiculous ideas about each other.

Yeah, we g2 be open minded. It's my 7th year in the US now, there are still many classmates asking me questions like "do you guys have McDonald, Starbucks and etc" in a pretty high ranked college. I wonder what were we actually learning in high schools and colleges. These should be places where new ideas are accepted, but mostly I see misunderstanding, arrogance and ignorance, and many are even proud of being that way. Besides, seeing 2016 election process myself, I deeply feel the press is not free anymore, as president Trump said it is controlled by the establishments and it only informs what it wants people to know, such as Chinese eating dogs :) Not much better from Chinese controlled press- that they only report massive shooting in USA. Nevertheless, I have to point out, these people are well educated and live in Shanghai, the largest city in mainland. They are absolutely a minority group of China, and one of the guys even said he had been living in the states before. The general public in inland are very closed minded, and most of them are not informed. We both have a long long way to go. Anyways, I wish both countries be good, and every one have a good holiday season. :)
@Cyber.Lynx.
@Cyber.Lynx. 6 лет назад
I agree, greylock1959. This sort of documentary is invaluable for giving both cultures an opportunity to understand more about each other without heavy handed propaganda influence in the form of media outlets and comment trolls whose purpose appears to be to keep people in a state of constant division. Sorry for the long winded sentence. To be more succinct, keep up the good work, Asian Boss! Oh, and by the way; I'm an old white guy who resides in Texas. As far as I know, most Americans don't dislike immigrants, but they do dislike people who enter the country in an irresponsible manner. Doing so is, at best, a sign of disrespect. Expanding upon that, the spirit of racism knows no political boundaries or skin tones. All it knows is evil as it represents fear.

There is a problem though, China is fairly closed off to interactions with Americans because you guys had a lot of sites blocked. Personally I think it is a way to keep us from interacting and realizing that the elite of both of our countries are always using propaganda to make the other look bad. If both populations were able to interact, we would see this. We are doing our best to get Trump out of office at the moment. I just want to remind y’all that a lot of the translations did not have the same connotations as what they were speaking. There were a few times where they were saying things in a joking tone but that was lost in translation. Anyways if you read the translations, approach it with the idea that they were more polite than what was on the captions!

As a Hongkonger (a special administrative region of China practicing Capitalism), I have to say the interviewees are very rational. Even they may hold both positive and negative impressions, they're not blindly praising or criticising. And it's a rare phenomenon in our society as people are either extremely patriotic or antagonistic. After all, we need more peaceful conversation and communication between people or even nations.
@loganflatt
@loganflatt 3 месяца назад
It's not that Hong Kong practices capitalism -- it's that HK practices democracy. People in HK get to vote for or against those in power in government. People in China (Mainland) do not get that same right. But, people in China (Mainland) also practice capitalism ever since 1979 or so when Deng Xiaoping opened up China and introduced free market reforms away from pure Communism where, previously under Chairman Mao, the central communist government controlled and effectively owned everything -- which was a complete disaster. Millions of Chinese people died of hunger and starvation after communist policies failed to deliver food to millions of people in the 1960s and 1970s. Now, millions of Chinese people freely trade amongst each other to capture a profit -- that's capitalism. And, capitalism is how Chinese people have lifted themselves into a new middle class over the past 40 years, despite political control by the CCP remaining in place.

War is bad for the economy and for the people and I hope no war would break out in the pacific or anywhere involving the superpowers. Its also good to hear what the stereotypes of your nation are, its interesting to see what normal people think about you, some stereotypes certainly fit better than others. All that said I love China and hope that our two nations continue to become closer and prosperous!

Much respect from the United States China, it doesn't surprise me that everyone in this video was intelligent and had great insight on issues that need to be resolved. I do believe you guy's have freedom, my only issue is that you guy's can't vote for a president, hopefully that will be solved in the future. I hope before I die I can visit your great country! @yning5475
@yning5475 3 года назад
Apparently freedom is defined differently in different countries, so the US standards don't usually apply in China. And in China people don't find it be a problem not being able to elect the president, because China has developed a unique system called "selection and election" of choosing its leaders, which works pretty well for China, very different from the western models, so basically not comparable. In the US you can change the president/parties but a lot of time can't change the policies, in China we can't change the party but we can change the policies. Very efficient in terms of decision making. As a average citizen, being able to elect the president doesn't really mean a lot, not more than just a vague perception of "having the rights to elect", in fact could be dangerous if a unfit person gets elected (yes I am talking about Trump).
@boligard
@boligard 3 года назад
@@yning5475 Trump wasn't unfit at all lol? Dude was making peace and jobs over here in the states. You saying that they have no rights to pick their leader and being fine with that is hilarious. That's called a dictatorship, so you agree with North Koreas politics then by saying that. Trump was for the people and the media has brain washed you into believing otherwise, no wars started, desperate to make peace especially with North Korea. Your views are ignorant in my opinion.
@yning5475
@yning5475 3 года назад
@@boligard Before you reply, read my comment carefully and at least search what is "selection and election" process of choosing China's leaders. It's democratic in the Chinese way and people do have the rights to choose their leaders (not necessarily the president). As I said it's silly to apply US standard in China. As a Chinese living the west, I know what's going on in both sides, OK? I just spoke from my personal experience and views from people around me . and And China is nothing like North Korea, if you want to know go to China to see it yourself.

It's important to spread the truth they are not allowed the truth in mainland China they are a mass surveillance state that blackmails, persecutes people who tell the truth to promote there lies. I think we Chinese have many access to news and we are aware of not being brainwashed by any of them and try to figure out all interests chains may lead to bias views. My family living in Wuhan (inner mainland, not rich like Shanghai, and do not like Shanghainess [too materialistic]) always told me to have independent logical thinking. Western media sometimes are biased for political reasons or to catch eyes and earn more from ads. And western people are not aware of being brained washed given it seems more likely to have freedom to say whatever people like. So many western news are not true, e.g. news of Trump, although I do not like him. But media creates so many fake news to attack him that's not fair. Even I dislike him but I think fake news are more terrible for the whole world. 90% of us like US, we do not want any war. When we heard that US may use war as an option to make sure China is longer a threat, it astonished us and made us depressed. Bombs and missiles are expensive which lead to economic recession. And its a burden for US citizens, too many refugees may create problematic issues when they flood into the western countries.

I actually appreciate Asia, and China in particular. They literally are the powerhouse of all of our products. This iPhone that I’m on, made somewhere in Asia, probably in China. But that affects their market and people differently of course then it does here but there’s nothing we can do about it without losing millions of dollars in product. A war with China is something that I don’t see in my future. I hope to see a unity between our two countries because that’s the only way we can progress. China has very smart and educated people, as do we, and we’ve learned that when humanity works together to achieve something, it will be done. We’re built to be cooperative and work with one another. Don’t mind the flag that we wave, pay more attention to the human spirit and our passion of excellence. One day, maybe we can actually be friends, not just trade partners who look good for the camera but on paper it’s still shaky.
