Today, Darin and I are pouring this concrete floor because Luke has an early appointment he couldn't postpone.
No problem, Darin and I have poured many concrete floors together, just the two of us.
We use the same methods as when there are 3 or 4 of us, we just work with a little more sense of urgency.
Pouring concrete successfully is really about having a plan and knowing how the concrete will act. It's about knowing how much time you have before it starts to set up.

I've been pouring concrete for 25 years. There are certain tricks and trades that you learn That allowed me to pour 25 and 30 yd basements by myself

@larrylovingjr : IDK Larry... 30 yds solo seems like a stretch to me. But I ain't looking to start an argument so I'll just leave it at that. We're a 2-man team here and 30 yds just the 2 of us is our absolute max; I'm 60 BTW. But more than that in a single pour we use a "phone a friend" and have a couple buddies come over.

The best crew I have ever seen to date. Love the machinery being used. It makes the work faster, stronger eliminating air bubbles underneath the cement, looks smoother. Very professional. Great job!

The old concrete company I use to work for, I made them a few sets steel ladder that hooked around the anchor bolts they worked really good!

You may have a great idea with the anchor bolt ladder. You might want to bring your idea to companies that produce ladders.

What water reducer do you use? 10 1/2 yards in one truck or two. And you added 10+ gallons of water? There is a slick window egress ladder with hooks and it telescopes for storage that works great to get out of basements. Better than building one. I like to watch how other people work. Always a dozen different ways. Thanks

You must have a reason for pouring into the corner, instead of towards the walkout level. Curious as to your thought process.

I haul concrete and I can see the part of pouring the furthest away part first so you do not have to work under the chute but I would have figured some way to screed the corner before the final pass out.

Hi Mike, I have a three part question for you if you don't mind answering it for me! What if the concrete plant didn't give you the mix you ordered, like the right slump, the right amount of water reducer ect ect, how would you tell without experience and what could you do about it?

As far as the slump goes, if it's too wet when it arrives you could send it back an reject it. It should arrive about a 4 slump unless told otherwise. The mix design and water reducer should be on the drivers slip/receipt he has in the truck. All the information is on that slip. It's best to check it before you pour, that way if it's not right you don't accept it.

This is a cake walk job. It's a foundation that is a chute pour with no forms, or anything. That's why you only need two people. There's a reason why Mike Day has no equipment because he's nothing more than a glorified laborer who was ambitious.
