At birth, Diana was the daughter of a viscount but once her grandfather died she was the daughter of an Earl. Her family was titled long before the Windsors, the Hanoverians, at the time, ever took power. Her title was also centuries older than Prince Philip’s Greek title. That Greek title was barely a century old. Edit: Beatrice was married just this past year. A google search isn’t hard.

I did my ancestry and found out I descend from a ton of European and Eurasian monarchs.... Then I found out the statistics... Anyone *with a drop* of European blood is a descendant of King Charlemagne, ⅔ of those descend from William the Conqueror, and ⅓ are descendants of King John. It's actually quite common to descend from royalty/nobility.

But since4 you could also be descendants of their illegitimate children in they had a lot of them and thus in the eyes of royals, you technically don't exist.

In researching my genealogy, I discovered my 11th great grandfather was a passenger on the Mayflower, my 6th great grandfather was a member of the First Continental Congress and my great-great grandfather was a decorated Confederate general. Pretty cool, I thought. ... Until I realized ... ... at least a third of the U.S. population are similarly descended. Fact is, almost everyone alive today is descended from royalty, a president or some other historical figure.
