Stanly has been added to my list of top blues guitar instructors. Not just one of the top in the county or state or nation, but one of the best on planet earth. And he may not realize it. Real genuine dude. Keep the vids coming!
You are a great Teacher Stanley ! I really enjoy your organic style of slowing down and using focused consentration while practicing. You do a great job talking us through. Thank you !
This IS my fave/cool guitar instructor on RU-vid!! Stanly for the life of me, I can`t get this friggin` slap-rythym"........I can`t seem to figure out how/where your doing the "slap" (with all of your fingers?)------Help me pleeeeeease! Thank you!
This a really great lesson and I have been trying to find someone on Yt to teach Jumper on the Line strumming he did. This song My Jumper on the Line is great. Thanks alot..
So this may be a dumb question but what is the difference between doing that 5 part hand movement for strumming rather than just using your thumb for the whole thing or a pick up and down? I try it both ways and they sound the same.
No it’s not dumb. Yea you’re correct in that you can play it with just one finger or a pick and get the same effect. The only difference is that the nail striking is an old traditional thing that gives you a more authentic sound and feel.
I never picked up a guitar with intent on playing classic Rolling stones or an Oasis song ,just wanted to jam a blues riff. Same ol same ol for way to long; thanks new riffs. O yeah I need practice!, had a guitar teacher for a month after 2 nd week I knew no connection, this I get it if I can sorta see what your doing I can figure it out. Thanks !
