they are the metallica of death metal (part of the big 4, most gateway/easy to get into, usually the first one that comes to mind when the phrase "death metal" is mentioned)
“While not too technical it features awesome phrasing and note choices” is the most important thing in a song to me. It’s the stuff that sticks in your head. Memorable. And stuff…
to be honest first times a was listening to death when I was 14 I had to listen to albums 5 or 6 times to comprehend the song structure and melodies, since then metal music has advanced greatly, but at that time death was a very progressive band
One of the first Death solos I learned back when a random Guitar world had it transcribed a while back. Killer solo. Chuck's unison bends are iconic. Such wild expression on them.
it was mostly mindless shredding that wasn't memorable for the first album scream bloody gore. leprosy did better with melody on chuck's solos but they had rick rozz also doing them (and he's just a less famous kerry king with all the whammy abusage). Spiritual healing isn't too memorable either but melodic solos really pick up on human and symbolic and even the sound of perseverance
@@kenjicarlos8402In a way even scream Bloody gore is memorable, since it was the first true death metal album (still a little bit thrashy but way less than 7 Churches).
@@leonardoiannella what i meant by not memorable was the solos- the album itself is pretty memorable and often credited as the first death metal album. i cannot for the life of me, however, hum one of the solos of that album off the top of my head. the solos are so blah that there's a video on yt called like "death shredding compilation for [some number] minutes." they did it in sections of the albums and every solo sounded the same and flowed into each other because there's no distinguishable start or end to each solo.
I do both the tapping parts at the same time. You can use your index and middle finger to tap at the same time and you can't really tell the difference from the original. Nice performance!
@@calebbean1384 Yea, it's possible. You'd have to tap every other note with your right hand though (as opposed to every fourth in the original). So there would be a constant changing of string pairs which would make it a bit more difficult maybe.
OK THIS IS CRAZY!!! I'm learning this song right now and was just talking to my son on how I couldn't figure out what Chuck was doing during the pull-off section before the solo and this video shows up on my feed... How did you do that!?!?! lol
My only complaint: in bar 23 you have to go absolutely ferocious with the picking hand! The fingering of the left hand is alright though! 😘 But other than that you did an outstanding job with the solo! 💪🏻
Loved it!! 😎 you really need to teach these young cats who he really was..... his words! Sounding like it's an ancient scroll (need i say more)..... thanks Shredder Master🙏🏽🤜🤛🏿
That solo, is actually accessible because it’s not all sweepy sweep (that’s the technical term you see). Has some nice phrasing and if you break it down it’s quite fun and semi easy to play - assuming you have moderate dexterity. Nice man.
Your lucky, i was beginnig to lose faith. It has now been restored but dont stop with crystal mountain. I got a fever and the only prescription is for more death
