the running gag there being that he is 'so much smaller than the average man', elf doors being made out like they are the doors to his dressing room and such.. (on 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown) so if men stand in a row using the public restrooms, he in a sense is the one looking up at the others..

This Is How You Start a Comedy Show. Brilliant! Establish irrefutably that you are the alpha male in the room. I'm sure this would work in many other settings, too, like at a business meeting, interview, dealing with police, first day of court, encountering a gang on the streets, etc. I'm off to buy a bunch of cardies!
