Omg a stylist that detangles a client’s hair without talking shit, being condescending or wanting to charge an extra $40. Holy fuck… I went to a salon ONE time back in 2020 and on my life she made me feel so bad I was gonna go next door to the barber shop and chop all my shit off…I had hair past my shoulders too. Didn’t mean to trauma dump but I struggle trying to figure out how to take care of my hair myself instead of worrying about other people and who I may inconvenience cause my hair isn’t all the way detangled 🙄

The only thing I don't like about curl defining with mousse or setting lotion, is how stiff it ends up. Like, it moves, but not a lot. I prefer water, leave in, and curl activator gel for myself and clients . It moves, flows, shines, and moisturizes. Yall should try it

What people don’t understand is that you get better definition when you take sections of hair and define them the size of your curl pattern. My nape is softer and looser so I can style from my ear and below in 2 sections if I wanted. From my ear to crown I could do up to 5 sections because my curls are tighter so I take a smaller section to define

Taught my daughter this! Curls need individual love and attention, diligence and conditioning. I talk to them and love on them as I massage oil in with conditioner. Curly hair, and coils are more work than people think! Loved the way you cared for each strand gently!🤎

Wht does it mean if my curls don’t pop out after washing and deep conditioning? They used to but don’t anymore. It literally looks like a puff

@jackiebrown5003 …. One time in your chair and you’d run from me screaming. I have course, long hair with at least 5 different curl patterns on my head and there are sections of my hair that I call "gel-defying-frizz" ….. NOTHING has gotten rid of the frizz, and I have sections that grow straight as a bone - not heat damaged - I have cut it so many times and it grows right back the same…frizzy at the roots,and straight the rest of the way…. No protein, no mousse, no gel, no fire-hose-moisture can kill the frizz or make the straight part curly (worked on other parts but not this small section…right in the front!). I have been natural since before it was even popular! I have to use 3 DIFFERENT types of gel AND some mousse to get this bad boy to behave. My hair would be your worst challenge.

If a green thumb is for plants, what color is it for hair? Cuz girl! I've had 3 stylists in my life that grew my hair and could style it. Back in the day, we used to say that you had 2 types of stylists. One that could grow your hair or one that could style it. Both guys were named Michael. My salon angels. I can't remember my girl's name but I moved away, so sad😢 There are a lot of stylists out there. In my opinion.Very few growers. I once had a guy argue with me about a perm, I wouldn't do, for the entire 2 hours I sat in his chair. Why did it take 2 hours? Because my hair is a bit finicky lol You have to blow dry it in the way you're going to style it, otherwise it sticks straight up out my scalp and then the roots won't lay flat. That's painful. He argued about that. Needles to say, I didn't go back. Also, my hair won't hold a perm for more than 3 days. After that it starts to get poofy and dry. No matter what I did. I did a big chop and never went to the salon again unless I needed a trim. They were cutting off my length😢 I'm not obsessed with length. My hair just grows pretty fast. When I finally found a natural hair salon, I was through the roof happy. Unfortunately, I can't use their products. This was so satisfying to watch. I love 4c hair. I can hear people saying how that's a lot of work. Over time, it'll take less time, less product, and last longer🤸🏾‍♀️ Yay🎉

Props to her but I've just never understood why to really pay for this service because it's just your natural hair with no styling. I mean I can rub product through my hair and separate the curls and it's not gonna last any length of time. I just would rather have some sort of style that people can tell that I did my hair and it will last me a little bit longer but props to her, no shade to her specifically.
