You were actually right. The Gahendra Rifle is a .577/450 Martini-Henry breech loading military rifle manufactured by gunsmiths of the Nepal Army under the direction of General Gehendra Shamsher JBR in the early 1880s :)
Never in my life would i think to see both Bengal Tiger and Snow Leopard in COTW, let alone on the same map. If you told me 4 years ago COTW would have these species i would have laughed. We have come a long way from Layton and Hirsch. Also the rest of the game animals of Sundarpatan are also as amazing as the cats, the Barasingha,Tahr and Yak would be a journey to grind for trophies while the Tibetan Fox is a goofy little fella.
This map looks amazing! The tigers, the tahr, the yaks, and as someone who played battlefield 1 a ton, and my favorite sniper in that game was the Martini Henry! My BF1 gun is here with me again lol. Well done EW! Well done!
Thanks for your recap Mel, as good as always ;-) I was quit surprised to see this one. It seems to be a great and gorgeous map! It was worth waiting for :-) Can't wait to play this one too! Love all the animals, some of them I didn't knew yet.
The Trailer and the Live Stream literally put to bed all of my concerns with this map. It looks great, and the possible/mostly confirmed species are awesome. I hope Black Buck are on this map, as I hate hunting them in Parque Fernando. All those new species, them pulling the trigger with Tibetan Fox, Snow Leopards, Yak, and Tigers far exceeds my expectations. It doesn't look all that thick either.
The fact that we’re getting Tigers and snow leopards on the same map it’s only a matter of time until we see Elephants and Rhinos on the next Africa map one day
great video Mel. I know I'm going have to move some stuff around in my trophy lodge when I start getting trophys on this map lol. so I think it's going to be worth the wait for this map and tahr being the next great one I wonder what they're going to look like and if they're going to be a backfill species on Te
Really looking forward to the Gandhare which, if Google search can be trusted (!), is a Martini-Henry which I've loved using in other games. Curious what scopes it takes and what it gets chambered as...
This is easily the best map added to the game! I want to grind tigers! I somewhat hope they make it kind of hard to hunt them so you can’t just hm easy diamonds!
Looks incredible. Has Snow Leopard been confirmed officially? Coz i thought it was Tigers and Eurasian Lynx. As far as i know snow leopards are endangered.
The steam page, confirmed blue sheep, barasinga, nilgai, yak, water buffalo, tiger, and muntjac. Also a new martini henry rifle. Also tibetan fox. The hype is real.
@melsgaming375 It is definitely a martini henry. Great call on that one. They were contracted to the Indian military around the late 1800s. Most likely a 577/450 which is a black powder cartridge. Sorry im a bit of a gun nut.
The IRL rifle is the Gahendra rifle. It’s a local Nepali copy of the Martini Henry, but they’re all handmade. Rifle aside, the reserve is going to be incredible, better than even EC. The landscape is just show-stopping.
I can't believe that this is actually happening! I've encountered tigers in Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2 and 2009 but not like this! And yes, it is a video game, and to those saying hunting tigers is wrong, we don't hunt tigers, for example, there're games where you kill lots of people like in RDR2, and that isn't wrong? It's a video game.
