Lorna Shore are back with their new song "Sun//Eater"! How does it compare to "To The Hellfire" and older Lorna Shore material like "Immortal"? Are Lorna Shore the kings of new school, TikTok deathcore? Will "Sun//Eater" be another "To The Hellfire"? How ridiculous is the breakdown and Will Ramos' vocals?? Find out in this reaction!

I’m not sure I agree with people saying it’s the exact same as To the Hellfire, it seems like they went for something much more triumphant and major sounding. I don’t envy their main songwriter, following a massive breakout hit (especially one partly built on a gimmick) sounds extremely stressful.

God I love this song. It's just massive. I know some people think it sounds like To The Hellfire, but I tend to think most of those people aren't necessarily big fans, ya know? I listen to Lorna for Lorna's sound, not for them to try to recreate themselves every album. It's kind of like the non-metalheads who will tell you this sounds no different than Cannibal Corpse lol. I think it sounds like newer lorna with will. I dont think it sounds like to the hellfire. But sadly people will just know them for that and constantly compare. What Finn doesnt realize is that all of those reactions were real, but the reason he doesn't get it is because he died inside decades ago with the rest of us 30-40 somethings. The problem with releasing tracks one at a time is it feels like they all need to be singles and one up each other. The only legit reaction to a stupid heavy breakdown is as follows: - Stank face and genuine laughter - Shaking your head and saying something along the lines of "nah, fuck off" - More laughter - That thing where you blow out air and it makes your lips flap, like what horses do - That empty look of sheer defeat and resignation - Acceptance If you reaction to a breakdown doesn't resemble the stages of grief it's probably not a very good breakdown

Apparently unpopular opinion: CJ was better than Will Ramos. CJ walked so that Will could run, and I don't mean that in a technical kind of way, they're both equally amazing at doing harsh vocals on a technical side. But it just seems that Will now has to do the kind of vocals he does because CJ invented that in "Immortal" and laid out the path for him to follow. Now every LS song has to be more "ridiculous" than the one before, because CJ set the bar so high. And also it felt more dynamic and natural when CJ did it, I just feel like he had a really good sense of dynamics and timing and knew what was going to work out for a song and what would be too much. I still like the new LS stuff, I just think that CJ was more fitting for this style.

That's what his vocals used to be just gurgle gurgle gurgle now he just sounds like the guy that replaced him which is comedy fucking gold to me. I've gone back to Darkest Spawn(My favourite CJ LS song) and Cesspool Of Ignorance multiple times since he had his little stink and ya it's just sounds like Clown Core where they just gurgle incoherently and the lyrics don't match up with the sound. I fell for the hype when he first popped off but now I just don't get why anyone is impressed by his vocals when anything good he does someone else does 10x better. That's like being impressed and blown away with my guitar playing when Jason Richardson or Tim Henson is sitting over there decimating their guitar with one hand and their eyes closed.

These guys came around my local scene in 2012, played a show with my band, they were on a mini-tour and came to NY and KILLED it to a VFW hall with 35 kids. They were HUSTLING, so sick

The "warpy" effect on the "synth" melody is a whammy bar on the guitar melody lmao. It's layered on top of the orchestra samples throughout the entire song where the orchestra is present, except in the intro. There's no actual synth in the song unless you want to count the orchestral track

I believe a lot of the hype is due to Will Ramos. I don't listen to much deathcore, but honestly I've never heard many screams sound close to that. His little snarls and wet sounding growls are pretty fucking nuts, whether you like it or not.

Metal bands love a vocalist without a microphone. Not sure why, it's a small thing, but it gets to me.

Authentic reaction to deathcore music: “Now I’ve shot my wad and I’ve got nothing left.” God lmfao

So much like Symphonic Metal, definitely Septic Flesh territory and its Fucking Great. Also For Young Guy Will Ramos seems really grounded and sound...Nice Guy. Hope the Dude stays that way and I really wish all the best for the current Lorna Shore line up cos they deserve it. Very impressed.

I prefer when the vocals are more forward in the mix. But good song either way

I don't know if you already know/knew this, but Tom Baber who is the current vocalist of Chelsea grin and also the vocalist of Darko is Lorna shores founding vocalist.
