@@wsar7669 Exactly. In theory it should be enough to power raspberryPi with 5W but it would be still not enough for handhelds . You would need three those batteries and underclocked APU to 15W but the performance would be still very weak
I just cancelled mine yesterday. I dont think the price for the chipset used in the Max is worth it at this point. A year ago it seemed good, but newer devices with better APUs for the money are hitting the market sooner
@@JimmyJoeMcGurl which devices in particular? The only handheld I'm aware of, is the one from Asus. But I guess Asus handheld will most likely be priced higher than this.
@@zarakikenpachi1773tbh this is probably one of those things that will flop pretty quick because of newer consoles showing up so i wouldnt really reccomend investing in this you are better off saving your money
@Muh Election was stolen it honestly goes both ways yes you can play safe on medium settings but for people like us who want the full experience and running emulator yuzu for example we needa manually overclock settings and etc and that makes the fan louder and thats normal cause its ment for it if not steam wouldnt have gave us the ability too
@@schnaufenderwaldbewohner9726why is ur steam deck so loud? Whenever I use mine it’s never that loud usually I play tuned down settings, but even on higher settings it doesn’t get very loud
still super excited for this thing, can't wait to see the reviews. the form factor looks excellent and the device is gorgeous! the Ally makes the prices hard to swallow tho :-/ Wondering if things will change around that.
@@4MINE107 it's literally a portable pc, even runs the same operation system... just get a keyboard and mouse and an adapter to connect it to a monitor.... my bad you can use a DP cable to connect it to a monitor...
250 is the cheapest version, that one is not at all comparable to even the steam deck in power. The 6800u version was priced at 800, and was 650 for Odin backers.
The loki mini pro sounds kind of cool because I guess it could do some PS3 Wii u and switch emulation. For that kind of power the screen might be too small though. I wonder how much battery life could get doing lower-power tasks
They really need a bigger screen, those few Wii U games that need a separate window for the gamepad will really suck on this thing, unless you map a hotkey to switch screens or something
@@tylerjenkins3171 still doesn't beat the steam deck, their website shows what would be compatible performance wise to the steam deck to be at $500+, so ya might as well just buy a steam deck
I recently got an Odin Lite and my favourite thing about it is the combination of its power vs price vs battery life which is really impressive. I've been playing a ton of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence at 1.25x on the go. I'm usually able to get a solid 4-5 hours when playing more intensive 3D games like that. If they maintain the same quality, it'll be impressive!
@@ravagingvip3r732 Performance in-game is definitely playable and it maintains a consistent 30 most of the time. The only exceptions are a couple swamp scenes or any scenes with lots of rain. Cutscenes can be pretty slow too, but I just skip them, especially having played the entire game on PS3 years ago.
The most aggressive price v performance ever if it actually manages to launch with that price. It's running God of War! Imagine if it can emulate Switch games.
The steam deck can already emulate switch games pretty darn well and so can my GPD Max 2 6800u model more so. This shouldn't be a problem unless the unit has terrible cooling and bad throttling.
Imagine having the Wii U, Switch, Switch Lite, and Steam Deck as foreknowledge and still putting the analogue sticks high on one side and low on the other.
