With Manor Lords coming this week, KCD2 announced I feel like Medieval is getting a huge spotlight this year. So what a time to get into some epic Medieval mods in Total War! These are my top 5 (with some honourable mentions) but I'd love to hear yours as well, let me know in the comments below! And subscribe to the channel for more videos just like this :)
In the new Total War III, I expect, nay demand: castle sieges, smaller hills to defend, (Manor Lords) fighting withdrawal movement, generals with different fighting styles: aggressive, defensive, cunning, ambush lovers, honourable, etc. And more CKIII elements or collaboration, throne rooms, marriages back as strategy, your own empire may crumble, and including using some units from other conquered cultures.
I don't understand why they can't work with modders to make historical total war games. I am sure they can hire them as freelancers or contractor SMEs to build something better.
Appears Anno Domini 1051 needs updating because the De Hautville family (Apulia) were not Lombards, as is described in the faction page. They were very famously Normans.
As always thanks TheTerminator for the video! As you mentioned, we are starting to release "packs" of new units and reskins for faction groups, such as the Frankish states, like Kingdom of France, and recently the Germanic states, like HRE. Furthermore, I would like to announce that we are also planning a new campaign based on the Wrath of Sparta DLC map. The year of departure? 1207 AD! 😉 Xenon97(Joker) Team Medieval 1100/1177 AD
Latest SSHIP version is from march 27th 2024 and can be downloaded from Total War Center Forums. The SSHIP team rarely update their ModDB page, so the versions you download there are usually months, if not years old. Just so you know ;)
For me 1212 is the best medieval experience one can get now in the total war setting. Though, you've missed in this video what's probably the actual ultimate medieval experience right now which is to play the campaign in CK3 and battles in 1212 with the Crusader Wars mod! 😎
In the new Total War III, I expect, nay demand: castle sieges, smaller hills to defend, hide troops behind buildings for better traps during battles, storming buildings and losing men or burning them down, (Manor Lords) fighting withdrawal movement, generals with different fighting styles: aggressive, defensive, cunning, ambush lovers, honourable, etc. Peaceful kings whose sons attack. And more CKIII elements or collaboration, throne rooms, marriages back as strategy, your own empire may crumble, and including using some units from other conquered cultures.
Yeah sure. CA might be on a good track right now but to create that game they'd need to stay on the right track for a decade at least. And I bet the old greedy fucks will try to pull it back into shit in a couple months.
9:15 Not the team, only D.Trooper is working on overhauling the campaign map and it takes way longer than they anticipated. Lets hope that the great break through will be happen in 2025. D Trooper has other things to fix as well:) (For example holy Roman Empire mechanics) By the way, D trooper is the genius who invented the 10 building slot cities.
1100 ad for rome 2 has one BIG problem: enemy dignitaries disbanding my units every turn. It's so annoying, especially since it's complicated to recruit the hight tier ones. That made me drop it for now...
@@starsmil9687 fact is I think the mod is almost perfect, but that one detail for me is a game changer. Losing Noble knights every turn cause of some darn diplomat is very annoying, maybe you could make a submod that removes unit disbandment. Also one other thing that could be improved is defence on and under settlement walls. I know it's a rome 2 mechanic so it probably can't be changed, but the attacker is so favoured for no reason when on the walls, they swarm between the defender soldiers and destroy them with little resistance, and not only on the walls but in front of the entrances too. I always leave the walls cause they're impossible to defend, which makes no sense man. I actually think 1100 ad is the best medieval mod for any total war but these two things are very annoying I gotta be honest. Also one more thing, you should try to make a new model for islamic cities with a mosque model cause rn every islamic city looks like Jerusalem lol. Anyway what you guys did for now is incredible and I can't wait to come to play it if you resolve some problems, especially the disband situation.
@@asellandrofacchio7263 Thanks, about unit disband situation maybe it's bad luck cause you are first who complain about this. But we will look into this! About walls "issue", i never met that personally and fight on walls usually :) Anyway it's engine thing.
I play Chivalry Remastered nowadays in lieu of the Medieval 2 mods. It's just a lot more modern in terms of control and responsiveness, while still keeping the classic total war mechanics.
I can't wait for this mods to finish this campaign maps, wish someone will mod the map on dei total war 2 maybe the alexander mod and definetly ancient empires in Attila
After RTR IS I will probably never be able to play TW with less than 1808 regions... To me this size is mandatory now. Hope the guys at 1212 will increase their map!
We will look into this. Btw u mentioned 1 thing of many thousands changed. For example we added great trebuchet models some time ago. Hope it will bring the immersion :)
I love 1212 and can’t wait for the map update but I do have the issue where I have the right mods in the right order , no other sub mods but I get told on the main menu I’m missing pack files or something like that but game still works which is all that matters
Dang another video covering same old total war mods, TW truly needs something fresh, no wonder ppl are so hyped about manor lords, though the game is completely different.
if only there was a mod that you can control like Mount and Blade any warrior or lord hero on the battles and having all these move kills and matched combat of Attila gore fiht animation mods.. Then sorry but forget any Bannerlord forever. Still in Medieval 2 there is a mod that you can play as the captain of your army but of course uses the vanilla animations... If only in Attila and Rome 2 this mod but using the Warcry Mod animations....Men our problems would be solven forever no jokes on that. A mod like that on Rome 2 and Attila with their reskin mods their rest mods ...and playable with brutal gore etc animations and not only vanilla but randomly what we want from this gaming life to feel the battles in our skin. I would remove Bannerlord at the same moment.
Great video! The Tsardoms mods for Medieval 2 are just next level. Both the original 1345 Tsardoms and the 1448 Fall of Constantinople Tsardoms. I've spent countless hours in both of them and feel like I still have only scratched the surface of these mods. The map, the unit design and detail, the individual biographies listed for historical characters, the unique factions that all have their own identity, the amazing scripts. They're just so good. Add to that a wonderful and devoted community and nice devs who take feedback really well. Seriously. Mods of the decade.
Its just you:) I would get crazy if I think about it every day:D I hope it will be released in 2025 - but dont forget: Only one person, D trooper, is working on it. They underestimated the complexity in doing so.
Legend of TW´s source said that CA is now working on Medieval 3 TW. However, it will take at least 3 Years until we can play it. Hopefully, there will be no heroes:D
@@forbiddenbeard2210 I think CA knows that its their last chance to get trust back and also to show SEGA that they should not be scrapped. On the other hand, they lost many employees... Whatever, I hope it will be good and if not, we still have medieval 1212 ad.
For the Attila Total War mods, you can just update the game through Steam mod manager. But for the earlier TW games, don't you need to copy the mod files into the folders? To me, that is a big advantage for the Attitla Mods.
Bad thing about 1212 is that Poland has a very poor unit roster and no Poland in Anno Domini. Its like the Developers hate Poland for some reason when there are a lot of Polish players out there. If they would combine the unit roster and AI from Medieval Warfare into 1212 then it would be the greatest mod ever.
i think medieval 1212 ad can truly become the medieval 3 total war but they are just letting so much of the campaign go, they dont update so many of the problems and bugs the campaign has, i hope they do focus more on the camnpaign with this new map
@@Askethanoras I just hate how so many mods are referred to as "literally Medieval 3" over the years. Not that Terminator did that in this video, I am just anticipating the hypesters chiming in with calling these mods that.
@@pizzaman6784 He did it with his clickbait title "THIS IS MASSIVE: 5 Perfect Mods To Play MEDIEVAL 3 TOTAL WAR!". It basically sounds like if there already is a medieval 3 and here are the 5 mods to improve it.
