I prefer to see the guys they have bubble up and play. That's how Beach, Spoon, Poitras, Loh and Braz developed last season. And they have a few that- with some playing time -can really become part of this team. Who doesn't want to see Lysell, Merkulov, Jones and Tufte do the same?
I get that and I agree. That said, this is nothing more than added competition for guys like Lysell and Merk in training camp. DS I'm pretty sure has stated that he wants those guys to make the leap and be part of the team, but signing Wheeler and/or Yamamoto to PTOs tell them that while yes, DS and co. are rooting for them, they still have to earn their spot. Plus if Wheeler/Yamamoto don't cut it they can just let them go. Assuming they go forward and offer them PTOs
Bruins Do Not need Old Man River ..Wheeler. And Don't need any shrimpy players !!! In Case you haven't heard Neely and Sweeney are looking to get the Briuns Bigger and Faster and tougher!!!! I've spent the last 4-5 years watching our shrimpy players tossed around like rag dolls by bigger opponents especially in the playoffs. So NO,NO,NO to them . And finally we don't need any more bottom six players, we have a glut of them ! Peace out, Go Bruins Go .🎉
Yep - we can copy and paste your comment from last summer regarding Danton Heinen. So far we have a pretty good track record on bringing in pto's. They have a purpose. a lot of that has to do with practices and in the locker room.
Bruins have a pretty good track record on plucking pto's. It's the end of the summer - they know who's eating ice cream and who's been working out. We heard a lot of this type of stuff when they brought Danton Heinan in. Evidently, someone knew what they were doing. They have a much bigger purpose than just playing games - they need them for practice, the locker room... They're not supposed to be flashy roles they really need these guys to keep game speed and competition up during practices. No need to doubt our pto choices yet.
I was pissed when they got rid of Blake Wheeler. Turned out to be a stud..not so sure about now though...always liked Yamamoto. He has a good motor. Never quits...
@@buckwing6743 wheeler would be a fine addition on a PTO, and he was hurt more than he was a healthy scratch he was only really scratched in the playoffs, and if he can come in a push the young guns why not, and maybe he can play 40-50 games on the 3rd line and not a bad thing to have him around if we need to use ltir. He’s way past his prime obviously but I think he just like JVR last year could have about 35-40 points, I’d obviously rather lysell and merkulov make the next steps and then after this year hoping Duran can step in and hopefully dean comes in and is a steal like our last 25th overall pick. But it’s never a bad idea to have a few pto guys around there cheap when they do sign, 800k, and Boston has a good track record of taking these guys past there prime or these guys who looked like they were young guys on there way out of the league they bring them in 1-2 years next thing ya know the guys are making 3-4 million dollars per year on a multi year deal lol. So I mean I think wheeler like I said is long past his prime but he could be useful
Hope they don’t sign Wheeler. He is a cancer in every locker room. He was a douche when the Bruins traded him and his history with Winnipeg shows he still is.
Kirk brother, as a guy that grew up listening to Boston sports radio and media they may be the most opinionated, hysterical, negative bunch of over reactors anywhere. What I like about this channel is the fresh perspective and well thought out commentary . Please don't fall for the chicken little approach that effects Massholes cause by our beloved Sox ! Bring that calm Canadian perspective . Don't be Steve Dangle . I love you Steve . But that's because you spaz which brings me joy . Swayman will sign and Boston media will be onto the next crisis . That said , GO B's
Well fkn said, I’m also a Canadian bruins fan, dad is from Boston, so this household on the east coast of Canada is bruins, sox, Celtics, patriots hahaha but you are so right I’m not one that panics Boston will easily get this contract done and like you said the sky is not falling and I love Steve but he’s a leafs fan and loses it 😂 plus he’s one of the only leaf sports show guys who actually preaches what Boston has done and realizes how good we are and have been. GO Bs!
100%, we have a bunch of forwards but if either of those guys can crack the lineup at a bargain basement price then power to them. Players on PTO’s are highly motivated when they’re faced with not having a contract or an NHL team to go to when open day starts.
Because they know how the Bruins operate after decades of watching them. They will sign one of these guys, get older and smaller, box Lysell out of the lineup and then he will request a trade lol
Dont we have enough competition for the 3rd & 4th lines??? Our top 6 is only FOUR deep!!! The "excitement" over these clowns shows you how gullible Bruins fans are
