Sam, this song is actually about a puma that escaped from a zoo in korea and ended up getting shot and killed. so its that puma talking in the song. when you know the story behind the lyrics, its actually quite depressing. its about feeling trapped and helpless and wanting to escape and be free. it is really sad
It's a real story that happens it Korea -It's about a puma that came out of a zoo because the zoo keeper's din't close up properly , but after it went out off the zoo on its own they shot the puma leading to it's death ,that caused a commotion But it a sad
Yes thank you for posting this! It was sad. The puma (who's name was Bbo-rang) didn't do anything wrong. It wasn't her fault she got out. She was just doing what comes naturally. They could have tranquillized her and brought her back to the zoo..... but they just killed her..... because that was easier. She was 8 years old. In her life she had 3 hours of freedom.

Actually they tried NOT to kill it but the Puma was getting violent and freely roaming around isnt safe for both the puma and the citizens. They tried something else to take the puma but that backfired and caused them to kill it instead.. its so unfortunate 🥺😭
i think i'm in love with yeonjun rap verse in this song. he does a lot of "hiccups" and I think they are really cool, just like suga's "voice cracks". it's a very peculiar style and I don't think I've heard it from him in the previous songs

Actually the korean title is not Puma but "The Puma that escaped the zoo" it's a real story, a puma escaped the zoo, he was finally free but people killed him, the lyrics come from this story and the MV too this is why they're trapped...
This song references a real life even in Korea where a puma got let loose from a zoo but it’s also a metaphor for txt as they debuted or “gained freedom” and the struggles they’ve faced and overcome. You should read the lyrics when you get a chance. They’re really sad when you thing about the fact that the puma was killed in real life but in the metaphor they spin it to apply to them and it’s really motivating. I’m just so proud of how far they’ve come, how hard they’ve worked, and just that they’ve been able to stay true to themselves.
Bighit has the best MV's and IDOLS. TXT is growing at an insane rate and their mv's are already OTHERWORLDLY, literally... Now if I could just have BTS do either a sequel to Fake Love or BS&T... a dark or sexy concept! I can go to sleep at night knowing that BigHit is unstoppable lol.

the story concept behind the song itself i hear is about a puma escaping from its captivity and being chased down by everyone which i think explains the shots in the mv

5 of them represented on PUMA in South Korea that stuck in the zoo since its born. It doesn’t have freedom so one day it run away but end up dead by getting shot. The song describes how hurt the puma feel while still alive. Just like a person who doesn’t have freedom at all.

Okay so I saw somewhere that PUMA is referring to a story which happened in a zoo in Korea in 2018. I did a lil research and this is what I found : A puma got out of his cage by mistake and tried to leave. The puma got shot by the police... Tho he didn't do anything wrong... A zoo keeper left the door unlocked after cleaning his cage so he naturally went out. These guys hunted him for hours and the puma was found shot dead. The police says they tried to shoot him with tranquilizer first but the puma kept going. This zoo already had a bad reputation cuz some animals already escaped from it. Lots of people were terrified when they heard that dangerous animals could be released in the city. This MV makes much more sense when you know the story behing the song. The boys are obviously criticizing the system, they are portraying the puma, they are all trapped in some sort of hell. They act like animals in the choreo, Yeonjun and Soobin are literally smelling meat. Taehyun manages to break his chain and then Yeonjun gets shot... They clearly speak up about the fact that people should rather imagine how a puma lives trapped in a zoo than be mad at the zookeepers for letting him escape. It's a really powerful song and this MV just portrays it so well. I literally have no words... And if you read the lyrics of the song it's even more obvious... I loved your reaction Sam as always ! You've missed an incredible music video that was released about a week ago my Exo-M artist Lay called Lit - if you want to be blown away by production values (song and video basically produced by Lay himself). Loads of hidden meanings, but on the surface, just an incredible sensory experience.

I just wanna say that the lyrics are based on a real story on how a Puma escaped a zoo in Korea and they shot 'em even though it caused no harm to anyone, no mercy given. I think this song is very closely related to what injustice is happening in the world right now and i applaud Bighit for releasing it at this moment. This is also pretty linked to how TXT were treated since their debut with all the bashing, judgement and hate they got ,living under the shadow of their seniors without allowing them to show us who they are.
Each of them represents the ways animals is being locked in zoo. Yeonjun and Beomgyu are chained, Soobin and Taehyun are caged, and Hueningkai is trapped in a glass cage just like the one they use in zoos.
This song is about a real Korean puma who escaped the Daejeon zoo due to an unlocked cage, and just 4 hours later, she was shot to death. She kept running even after being hit with 2 tranquilizers going into nearby woods, and police killed it with live ammunition. Initial reports said that the Puma was captured alive, which wasn't true. It sparked outrage and many people boycotted the zoo for killing an endangered puma. (Thats why their lyrics are about facing freedom, escaping a zoo and included the part "all I can hear is bang bang bang")
if you watch their music shows performances, they are giving out clues there sometimes, i was watching their cant you see me performance and their background was stranger things,, so maybe the puma or the masked guy is the monster from the upside down. soobin portrays Will, they were both invisible because they got trapped in the other dimension/ the upside down. taehyun portrays eleven, remember when beomgyu threw ketchup on taehyun in the cysm mv? that symbolizes the blood that comes out from eleven's nose everytime she uses her powers, taehyun is the only one that can see soobin and he has been lying to the other members, pretending that he cannot see soobin. i don't know the roles of the other members, i'm still trying to connect the dots.
