That’s a hell of a walk- i’m from the north east and did the great north run in 2 hrs which is Newcastle to South Shields (13 miles) they walked twice that in the dark 🤣🤣🤣 not even sure which way they walked- probably straight up the coast until they got near to the Tyne I guess 😂😂
I follow a woman who has a family of rescued parrots of various types and she does occasionally take the macaw out for a walk, though not in it's cage, just on her arm. Just to give it some added stimulation.
Wombles were a stop motion children's show about creatures that lived on Wimbledon Common and collected rubbish people left and made things out of them, 1970s early recycling stuff. There was also the live Wombles, people dressed up in costumes who made appearances and they even had some hit songs in the charts, singer-songwriter Mike Batt who's behind many top stars (eg. wrote "Bright Eyes" for Art Garfunkel and discovered Katie Melua) was the creator of the music.
Once again, our overseas cousins are missing out on some Great British culture by not ever being gifted the Wombles. They were books first, then a charming TV show, and then a surprisingly prog rock pop group.
I _vaguely_ remember the Wombles during my childhood, so we must've gotten it at some point, but it most likely would've been on the ABC channel, which, honestly, didn't get as much attention as the other three main channels at the time.
I didn't get that either. I was torn, and went with Michael. It's nice to see you both back. You've got to do _something_ special for Blake's birthday. You can't really go by age as there is only a 5 year difference between Warrick, Lee, and Paul. It was hilarious to me when you both dismissed Lee's story so readily.
I suspect Michael was thinking of another Paul, to wit Paul *Foot,* who they featured on this show a while back. Now that's a crazy haircut. Almost unsettling.
Depressing really. When I was young, I assumed that the Wombles had been permanently etched into the annals of Earth's cultural history for all time. And now, mere decades later, I have to watch a couple of young Aussies declare no knowledge them. Shame. Unsubscribed. By the way, anyone know what the hell an 'Ewok' is?
