To be fair, this looks like a typical Hero's Journey, which is very predictable anyway. It's not like they spoiled a twist, at least.

Generally speaking the more plot, jokes etc in a trailer the less confident the company is in the movie imo. Kind of like those "comedy" movies that have all the good jokes in the 30 second teaser because the rest of it isn't funny.
