Sub and outlaw are looking strong in PTR testing. Likely going to Alt Sub for 10.2 unless some random nerfs hit. Assasination just doesnt have the damage to be used when Outlaw and Sub can perform so much better.
SUB is strong on live. Not unreasonably overpowered in an inexperienced players hand, but when played well is feels like an S tier spec (in PVP) on 10.2 live for sure, without any tier gear. Really enjoying it. Hits as hard as Ret with more CC, mortal strike, mobility, and on demand in and out of combat stealth, all which Ret is lacking. In battlegrounds it is super fun to nuke one enemy, and then another during a shadowy duel so their teammates cant save them.
Really wish they'd bring back the concept behind shadow dance was the unlock stealth based abilities, that were stronger because they were stealth, not a 30% damage buff. more more damage into backstab/Shadowstrike and the value of haste goes up and fixes one of the main issues with sub
@@trebortnulb5279 god yes. absolutely no reason shadow dance should give a blanket 30% damage buff. make eviscerate just hit harder baseline and shadow dance's power comes from the frequency of eviscerate casts not a 30% buff for no reason. it feels awful to play that you have to set up around secret technique with shadow dance because of the 54% buff from SD and Dance Macabre. it really feels shitty. FAR too many positive feedback loops in the spec where if you break one loop it a slog to get back into them
Outlaw looks 1000x better at the moment on PTR. Since the regen nerf, sub is struggling very hard. It is nice inside shadowblades but since that is off, you are basically doing noodle damage. Hopefully they'll address the regen changes soon. On the other side, Outlaw is the GOD at the moment, one of the best specs in the game, I'm doing insane ST and AOE damage. Hopefully won't get nerfed into the ground.
been saying this for awhile now, sub damage baseline needs a huge buff, remove Dance macabre and the 30% blanket damage from shadow dance and lower free energy gains. this make it so Shadow dance's power is the frequency of finisher casts, not the power. value of haste comes out of the gutter too, and rogues do more damage outside of Dance

They really needs to move acrobatic strikes to not having to sacrifice damage for utility, will feel so cringe playing assa/outlaw having longer melee range and swapping to sub you suddenly loosing that..
