I do quite a lot to optimize my health and my emotional being all that said I cared for an elder woman that died at 102 and drank approx 3-ish glasses of wine per day. I’m not saying I’d ever do that but I do think there’s more to the picture than we’re aware of. Stress / emotional stress of course is probably one of the biggest factors. my own mother has a very poor diet and a ton of emotional stress, and I’m amazed at how her body still serves her every day. 🌈🤗

I get what you are saying. Nowadays we're so obsessed about Diet and Nutrition and Exercise, which IS ALL GREAT, and we should be. But when someone else says they’ve noticed something that you don’t agree with it, you just called an outlier.

@ChristianMac-f9y
@ChristianMac-f9y 5 месяцев назад
Minimal red meat. Fish (no more than 2 x week if deep sea) Any meat should not be processed, smoked or charred. Micronutrients mainly from real food plant sources Next to no processed anything irrespective of the Macro. Protein - kj/gram or cal/pound is the lowest of macro nutrients plus has the satiety effect (not that I’ve ever appreciated it personally). Fruit and veg is mostly water so management of energy intake isn’t an issue. In short the reality is a healthy diet is simple but isn’t sexy. Humans naturally want a silver bullet or feel they are privy to some secret hence all the confusion and fad diets out there If you want it put even simpler meat and 3 veg, water, green and fruit smoothies

@@ChristianMac-f9y a gram of protein at the rate she says is still a lot of calories for just protein alone. Do the math. A gram of protein still has the same calories if it’s from red meat or a fish or a protein shakes ….she said in another video that protein is the most important
@francostacy7675
@francostacy7675 5 месяцев назад
@@lordparkyfpv1406 Patrick says you need 1.2 - 1.6 grams of protein per kilo of body weight. The 1.2 is minimum and if your active she said 1.6 to 1.8 grams are needed and suggested animal protein. That means a 200lb man needs at least 145 grams of protein. A gram of protein has 4 calories, which means 580 calories from protein alone. That is no omega threes because that involves fat and that means no fiber because animal protein does not have fiber. In other videos, she also talks about ingesting nuts, which is also high in fat. A gram of fat is calorie dense which means a gram of fat has 9 calories. If you add something like avocados that also adds fat to your diet and is calorie dense. She talks about staying away from high starch, fruits and vegetables and high sugar, fruits, and vegetables. So when you start calculating in eating and getting fiber and your micro nutrients and your mega threes, and your healthy fats, I just wanna see how she bounces it all for someone who tries to do with plant protein while getting their amino acids that are essential without animal protein I would think they would have a hard time. I would just like to see her meal plan to see how for her bodyweight how she fits in all this protein, along with all the micro nutrients that she says we should be getting from our diet .

@@ChristianMac-f9y where does she say minimal red meat and fish only twice a week? Where do you get the idea that fruits are only water, they have the highest amount of sugar content . Also, how do you classify, smooth, smooth as natural ? A fruit or vegetable smoothie is not something that is found in nature. I feel smidgen of arrogance in your comment that fas diets are ridiculous. However, if you look at insulin resistance in the development of better science, some of that is healthy eating in no way shape or form is a fruit or vegetable smoothie a natural way to ingest plant-based food

I do get plenty of omega 3 and plenty of other micronutrients for that fact, I have a well balanced diet I am 100 percent sure, but my problem is when you say about smoking and the intake of omega 3. I know so many people who have died of lung cancer cause cigarettes, and don’t think is appropriate to even mention that low intake of omegas is even comparable to smoking. I sure many of the people listening to you, know someone, even family members who have died or have lung cancer. Not to mention that cigarette smoking is associated with many others illnesses, like heart disease, cancer of the mouth, esophagus, throat, colon and probably many others that I don’t know about. My point is that something like that is better not be said, because how may be interpreted by anyone. I listen to your podcast all the time, and agree with much of the information you give to people, I just think it’s have to be a more appropriate approach to say how important omega 3s are.

In the beginning humans were in the stone age, who had no human developed plant crops to provide for their needs. The lived nomadic lives, as hunters and gatherers, as the yearly round of moves, was for food in other places, as the food in one place gave out. Presumably in these circumstances, humans were able to get enough of the micro-nutrients, due to they were often forced to eat nearly everything in a locality to meet their needs. However, humans, for the most part, are in a developed food supply of the now modern world. And in this modern existence, is where insufficient nutrients are manifest. Hmm, something to think on.
