In the first episode of “This is RodBuilding,” Gary gets to work on rebuilding a saltwater rod. He shows how to rebuild a Saltwater foregrip using different techniques and plenty of American Tackle products. He goes through the entire foregrip rebuild from picking the Eva handle, trimming it down to size, reshaping, glue-up, and finishing.

Outstanding Video! Your style of Teaching is Superb! Very Thorough , giving good Info in a Easy flowing manner. Fully explaining every Step. pressure fitting grips was how I was taught in Both the Classes i took here in Cape may Nj 1994 and again in 2004 as a tune up. Will be saving these Videos as a teaching aid to pass on to others. Thank You! Tight Wraps!

Thanks for the great video, the question I have is about the thread carriage what brand is it and where do you get them
@reeltime1
@reeltime1 Год назад
Awesome video. I was wondering how much reaming you did on the grip as the rear slid further down the blank when you were putting your marks. Also how much smaller is the I.D. of the grip compared to O D. of the blank.
@truecustomrods6937
@truecustomrods6937 Год назад
No reaming, this grip is a tapered ID, but even if it wasnt this method will work! 👍

How do you fit and align reel seats on to stand up rods. Do you fit the ferrule for trolling butts after rod guides are on? What do you do with a Heavy duty saltwater reel seat?
@truecustomrods6937
@truecustomrods6937 Год назад
Hello Alasdair, i choose to do the guides first then glue the ferulle on the back with an alignment tool, tape it untill its dry.

1 question: What’s the thinner inside the grip for? Insert after completely dry or semi-dry?
@BeardedWeirdoFishing
@BeardedWeirdoFishing Год назад
Wet... it helps make the grip pliable and slip on super easy
@guamanfish

@@BeardedWeirdoFishing thanks for the clarification! Will that not affect the hardening & adhesive property of the epoxy?
