Hi Gotham I’m a big fan and started following during the chess boom so can’t lie I’m a part of the crowd but couldn’t stop watching since, I play chess casually and you’ve helped me along my journey in chess and in life throughout your videos, I truly appreciate you and wish you the best!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEVY! Thank you for the amazing content, you give me something to look forward to on a daily basis! Hope you have a fantastic day with Benji & Lucy
I'm learning so much about how to evaluate my own position from these videos. I would, and often do, get crushed in blitz games, but these videos really help me learn how to think about my position. Also happy birthday!
Wouldn't normally go out of my way to leave a HBD on youtube for someone who does know me. BUT I KNOW YOU (RU-vid you) and am very appreciative of your content which has brought a lot of joy to my life. HBD DUUDE!
I always feel a little uncomfortable when somebody is overly dismissive of low ranked players doing poorly. I mean, we might be looking at 7 year olds playing chess, or my dad who insists this how chess was played in his day.
14:01 The point of that move was to make it so that the bishop can't be taken by the king to permanently cut off the king from the diagonal and set up checkmate. I mean it's mate in 2 already but black didn't see that, it's a bad move but it has a sort of logic to it
8:23 Excuse me sir. I think you'll actually come to the conclusion that the horse-shaped piece, known as a "knight" is in fact much more strategically useful to have in your arsenal than the bishop piece. I think you have neglected to inform that the knight piece posesses the ability to relocate itself in an L shape pattern. Since this is the only piece that has such capabilities, it is much more viable and strategically effective, than the bishop, which can only move in a diagonal direction. Do remember that the queen can also move like this, therefore making the pieces redundant. Please correct this for your next chess related video. Kind regards.
@@snowy7870 Sorry sir. I believe there may have been a small lapse in translation, as I am unable to decipher what you could possibly be trying to inform me with your response. Could you please send a reply to this comment here, detailing what you are trying to tell me. Kind regards.
@@snowy7870 Well well well. It seems that you kind sir do lack the basic understanding of human conversation. I'll have you know that people find it very rude to refuse a simple request. How would you feel if your mother was spoken to like that? You wouldn't feel very happy at all would you! Please fix your attitude when you speak to people in the future! Sometimes you won't have a screen to hide behind ;) Kind regards.
i understand the statistical logistics of me sharing the same birthday with someone else is guaranteed, but i never expected to share it with one of my favorite chess players goddamn Happy Late Birthday Levy
Thanks a lot gotham , cause of you i was a ble to get my rating to 1400 ,just 2 months ago i was like 800 Appreciate all the content you provide Happy birthday levy
Happy birthday gotham first time ive responded or said anything but i hope everything is well and I appreciate the present youve given me everyday ive had a tough two years and this year i found you and have watched you everyday. And i just want to say youve made me enjoy life much more along with all the nonsense ive delt with because you distract me from all of it
Well, you were all complaining that games were ending in a draw. This was a nicely executed two rooks checkmate. This was the very first combination that i've learnt when i was a kid.
"My wife got me some really really tasty, really giant chocolate chip cookies, which is like, ya know, is the best thing ever, *with the exception of the game that I'm about to show you*" Man, you gotta be more careful with your words! The wifey's cookies are always the best!
Happy Birthday! Totally with you when it comes to how to celebrate them. I have never once in my life announced that it was my birthday/that is was coming up and it's always nice to see how differently people organically act leading up to and on your birthday.
Happy Birthday from Egypt🍰 I must play like that game. I always have 3 missed wins. I once checkmated in 5 moves and didn't plan it... It just happened and at least it made me happy. haha. These comical games are a good source of smiles.
Im proud to see my compatriots being as clueless when it comes to chess as i am. Love from Romania Also that cheese doughnut from the picture is called papanasi and it's delicious af
