Admit it NovaReAxe, her music moves you so much you almost cried. I’m thrilled her parents have watched over her so carefully, but totally thrilled she’s now dropping her first album after watching her the past seven or eight years. Id say she has the voice of an angel, but she is really so so much more. It is a privilege every time we hear her sing…

Listen, if you want to hear the best version of suspicious minds by Elvis Presley 1970 concert in Las Vegas Elvis is the best singing live that’s for Elvis could be Elvis. He was shy by nature he didn’t like the spotlight, but he love to perform that’s where the king could be the king, but a boom, but I’m being for real.

The writer of this song, Mark James performed it and it didn’t get the attention he was hoping it would. He then gave Elvis the right to sing it and it became a huge hit. However, Mark didn’t like Elvis’ uptempo and pop arrangement. What Angelina and pianist, Rob Christies did in this cover is exactly the arrangement and type of performance that James had in mind for his song to sound like. Angelina created the vocal arrangement and Rob wrote the musical arrangement. Everything about the conception of this performance centers around Elvis’ 1968 Come Back Special. Everything from Angelina’s full length leather outfit, the type of guitar she used, her bee hive hair style and even pianist, Rob Christies red overalls paid homage to Elvis and his wife Priscilla. The executive producer of this video, Mery Zamani is Angelina’s grandmother, whom also happens to be her greatest creative influence and mentor. Grandma, Mery is the person who videoed and produced all of Angelina’s music videos before they signed with republic records. The reason for having the three young female children involved was to symbolize Angelina’s growth to where she’s at currently. The two youngest girls are Angelina’s cousins and her uncle Michael’s children. Michael is Angelina’s manager. The middle school aged girl is Angelina’s sister, Juliette.

From 2022, when Angelina Jordan was 16 years old. She just turned 17 this month. I love all of the visual nods to Elvis and Priscilla. She's uncovering the old and giving them new life. Yes, beautiful. This is the bridge of the song, which even Elvis slowed down while performing. But, Angelina stripped away the party vibe and faced the story head on. I love it. Love it, love it, love it, ESPECIALLY with historical context. But, now with Lisa Marie Presley gone (RIP), I"m so glad Angelina did this (it was dropped in time for the movie). Blessings upon you and your wee one, Nova. Grandma Ellen, out.

Nova, thanks for another reaction to our barefoot Queen of Jazz and Soul, Angelina Jordan. Also, thanks for providing links to the original video and to Angelina's Official channel in the description. Sadly, very few people read the description so please invite people to use those links. Angelina would want you to do so for each artist you feature. Would be awesome to hear you say that you have subscribed to her channel.

Angelina does play the guitar (more so in the last year or so) She also plays piano/keyboards and when she was very young in Oslo she took lessons with violin and flute. I love her interpretation of this song, she gives it a whole different feel. See you next time!

Here’s the backstory: “Based on the true story of when she was six years old, Angelina met a homeless, shoeless girl. After they talked for a long time, she gave the girl her shoes and vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world’s children had them. Since that time, Angelina has always performed barefoot in public.”

She plays piano, guitar, violin, and flute. Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. If you haven’t already reacted to her latest studio of Whitney Houston's version you should - here’s the link - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iX0g99jN26U.html 🙂

You probably have heard the original. AJ changed it up completely. She slowed the tempo WAY DOWN, and started and ended with the bridge. This version seems like a more sincere message than the original. Check out the original to completely appreciate what AJ did.

Absolutely amazing performance from Angelina, the first two little girls in the video are Angelina’s cousins her managers children, the eldest girl is Angelina’s sister Juliette, production input from Angelina’s Grandma who is a talented Iranian artist, pianist is 2 times Grammy Award winner Rob Christie the musical director of Republic Records who Angelina signed with at the age of 14 years old, love how Angelina pays tribute to Elvis with her black outfit and her red guitar 🎸 and Pricilla Presley hair style, Cover of a Cover as the original artist Mark James who wrote and recorded Suspicious Minds didn’t achieve with his original, then Elvis covered the song and it was a hit, great reaction thanks 🙏

Great reaction, Nova. The version by Elvis is totally different in both speed and arrangement. Do check it out so that you can better understand WHAT Angelina did with it. There's too much going on in this video to tell you, but the guitar she's using, her black leather suit and the red dress that Rob Christie is wearing are all nods to Elvis' famous performance of the song on his '68 comeback special concert. And Angelina's hairdo, the "beehive" is a nod to the hairdo of Elvis' wife Priscilla sported when they first met. As for the arrangement, she flipped the whole lot completely on its head here🙂 I believe only Angelina could pull this off at age 16. She turned 17 on January 10th btw. I mentioned the pianist, Rob Christie. He is the artistic director of her record label, Republic Records, and he has been accompanying her on a lot of her performances after she signed with RR in 2020, at age 14. He has taken on some kind of a mentor role for her it seems. He himself is a Grammy winner (possibly twice) and multiple time nominee. I hope you're getting back to feeling well soon, my friend. Take it one step at a time, at your own speed. I'll be here waiting. Much love from Norway. (Btw, the girls in the video was all her family. The preteen girl is her little sister, Juliette, and the two small girls are the daughters of her uncle and manager. Michael Astar. The executive producer of the video, Mery Zamani, is Angelina's grandmother 🙂 )

Angelina has great respect for Elvis. She has covered quite a few of his songs. She sings some of them in the same tempo and style as Elvis and even in the same key. It is always hard for me to pick favorites, but her 10 year old version of Love Me Tender is always at the top of my list. To hear her lower register, AJ's version of How Great Thow Art, at 12, is a good one also. She has always been fearless and takes on the greats from different generations and in many genres.

Thank you for returning to Angelina. Your reactions to her performances are always worth watching. The song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, who recorded it the year it was written. The best known version, however, was that done by Elvis Presley. It was his last No 1 song. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, Mark James is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).

Thank you for this reaction. Sweetness, emotion, soul, love, are all ingredients absolutely present in her voice, Angelina uniquely embodies the charm of naturalness, she is an inexhaustible source of musical poetry, regardless of the genre and style she interprets. I loved that Angelina made this rendition very sweet, slow and moving, she manages to sink us into the song in an even deeper way than Michael's original. I love her very much her stripped versions of her, of the classic songs that she chooses, she always takes you to listen to almost forgotten songs, even if they are very beautiful. 💛 🧡 ❤

This song was originally performed by Mark James in 1968. Elvis first sang it in 1969. Here's what the song is about: "The storyline of the song is based on James’ personal experience. He was married but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was also married. James’ wife was suspicious of him. James felt all three of them were “caught in this trap that they could not walk out of.” “Suspicious Minds” captures the mistrust of the circumstance and what they needed to do to move on." Released June 22, 2022❗️It surpassed over 3M views in just a few months! Angelina starts off with the bridge, completely different than anyone else; and then, begins with the opening line of the song. Her Bee hive hairdo is an homage to Priscilla…Many photographs of her hair, exactly like that. And a Leather outfit he later wore. The guitar is the Elvis‘s 1968 “Comeback” Guitar! Rob Christe actually owns this. The two young children are her cousins, her Uncle Michael’s children, the older girl is her sister Juliette. She even had a framed photo of Elvis, at this location. Rob Christie on piano ok.🌺 “Suspicious Minds”

Yeah! She’s something special, isn’t she? Power & Pure Velvet Perfection! This vocal arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt in collaboration with a stellar team including Rob Christie & Mery Zamani her Grandmother. She is a Master Storyteller. The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. I believe it is in LA near her home. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She can bring tears to your eyes. I base my interpretation on my knowledge of Angelina's journey from an 18 month old little girl singing a "classic" of music history 'I Will Always Love You' . She has been listening to these classics on repeat on YOUTube since then under the guidance and inspiration of her Grandmother Mery Zamani. She has been performing these classics since her first time in studio at 6 yrs old.. She has continued this journey through her 1st introduction to the world with her "Classic'" 'Gloomy Sunday’ and following with her many performances at her many Jazz Festivals, TV performances, Concerts, and charity events, studio recordings and practice sessions at home accompanied or not. The location in the Antique store represents these classics (like the furniture) of another era. To me she portrays wonder at all these classics surrounding her as she has travelled this road. Her tribute to Elvis is at her present age, today, each stage represented by her cousins and sister and ending with Angelina herself on the couch still admiring all this history surrounding her. The beautiful rendition of the song, and other tributes are in the leather outfit, Guitar and hair a tribute to Priscilla. Just my interpretation but it makes the most sense to me. ♥👣👸🏻

I’ll be honest I don’t mean to sound blasphemous, but Elvis is my God he’s the king of everything he’s my idol that hurt Andrew Jordan seeing suspicious minds season vocals goddess she is so young so talented so freaking amazing once a generational talent she’s like Nina Simone Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston mixing with the young Elvis Presley is Elvis group and it’s hers. He was singing gospel, so yeah she’s phenomenal.

Like her other tributes to her iconic mentors, this was done so well and the production quality is continuing to improve. Very professional. Very symbolic. That first bar is stunning. Like her other covers, it does provide a next level of appreciation and understanding when there is familiarity with the original. It provides more context to her version. I'm surprised to see you haven't reacted to her international debut with her Norway's Got Talent win from her 7 year old audition singing jazz and blues. All four songs can done in order together in this video and each is more incredible than the last. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O2bX15tYFVk.html
