Yes, Yes I would LOVE a musical score of multiple songs, so I could write the lyrics. (I gotta get in the shower, or I'd do this one right now, but I'll be back after running to town. Where do you want them, here? Here is good. Subject matter? H'm? Music has the "Someone is stuck in a situation" vibe. Yes? Yes. Be back!)
Amazing.... song with no words and no instruments!! Only Pentatonix could do this! Would I want a whole album like this? No. Once in a while is ok, but I do like songs with lyrics. ❤
When I was a child I often dreamed of a whole orchestra but just voices. It has come true!! Maybe not a whole orchestra, but the idea is there. Love it!!❤ Answer: a whole album? Not sure, maybe?? They have so much variety and talent that they could make it happen.
No words + no instruments = 2nd Grammy win! I love this song! Great reaction! Another suggestion would be to react to Aha! Singapore, live at the Star Vista. This is a live version and Mitch will blow your mind!
If you do this one Kevin is there just putting away his cello when it starts. I highly recommend it because it is fairly memorable as every once in awhile a particular live performance by an artist or group can be. The fan cam is pretty good so when you find it yes that is the one. The song Aha is by Imogen Heap and a favorite of Mitch's.
This was really good! They're all super talented and have such beautiful voices. As for the question, I'm not really into classical music and I prefer songs with lyrics. 😅 I really enjoyed this reaction. ☺️ 🎅🏻🎄🎁🦌🛷❄️⛄
Lovely reaction, as always. They won a Grammy for this ! No words, Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ballet. * the mean faces - the part in the ballet, where the toy soldiers come to life to fight the rats that are trying to ruin Christmas.* This is superb. Us Pentatonix nuts are such music nerds sometimes ! LOL ! Thank you so much.
👏👏👏PENTATONIX is THE GREATEST👏👏👏 Barry PLEASE react to God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen O Come All Ye Faithful Joy To The World The First Noel You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch Thank You
Pentatonix received their 2nd grammy for arrangement of instrumental music for a cappella on this. It really shows Avi Kaplan (the bass) classical and opera training on this one in stage presentation etc. It was the fastest to film of anything they had done according to him as well at 10 minutes.
OMG, this entire performance was filled with innovation. This arrangement made this a really special version of the song. Tchaikovsky would be proud, I'm sure.
You're killing me. "It's like the world's fallen in love with me. I can't stop it and I can't help it. It's just the magnetism that me got." Oh Barry, Barry, Barry. You are so much fun and so loved. Keep these coming!
Hi Barry. The fact that an a cappella rendition of a Tchaikovsky classic even exists is testament to the high standards some people set for themselves. Who would have thought that possible?
The Grammy category that Pentatonix competes for is A capella or instrumental song. They won the Grammy for this one since it was an a capella version of an instrumental song!
Awesome! The coordination and precision. I have no idea how they did that starting at 5:35 and then the perfect ending to that with Mitch coming in. Avi’s bassy bit at 6:25. Wow! Kevin’s whooshing. He was exceptional all the way through this. They all were. I am going to listen to this right away again with volume up. What would I give to see Tchaikovsky react to this. Thanks again for a great reaction. Barry ☘!! I speak for all the bales, beebales and beings. ❤🍄
Brilliant and perfect 7th day of Christmas. (Only 18 days and counting down) Merry Christmas. (Gosh, if this song doesn't make you feel joy, ya need to check your pulse. 😁)
Musical Timeline: Nutcracker Ballet written by Tchiakovsky, first performed in 1892. PTX arranges Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy for five voices (no instruments or orchestra) in 2015. They win their second Grammy for "Best Arrangement, Instrumental Or A Cappella" for this work.
"Yes, Mitchy!" And also, "Yes, Avi!" This is definitely one of my favorite Christmas tunes from PTX. I also love The First Noel (big Avi fan, here) and Mary, Did You Know (huge sucker for the 'wall of sound'). Great reaction as always!
Nice variety. Technically though it was arrangements of Daft Punk medley and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies for those 2 and Country Duo or Group for the 3rd one.
They have a brand new Christmas song written by Scott and his partner Mark. It’s called Thank You. It isn’t the usual PTX song. It has the cello and another surprise!! It’s a MUST!!!!!

Great reaction! My favorite PTX Christmas song by a _huge_ margin is "Making Christmas". It was also the first song where I really started to fall in love with Matt. It's a total must-see! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Th_j7RUu2vM.html
You HAVE to do White Winter Hymnal. It's not exactly a christmas song per se, but it's so darn catchy you'll be singing it in your head afterwards for days! And my personal favorite at the moment ( subject to change at any time ) is Once Upon A December from Anastasia. Again, not strictly a christmas song, but it's from their new album and it's one of my all time favorite songs ever, so of course I love their version. To be honest I think I like it even better than the original. Anyway, that's my current favorite.
Hey B ☘️….. Just following orders 🫡 , oh I mean directions, from the community tab Christmas 2023. The answer to your question from over there is ummmm, ahhhh, hmmm, nope, I need me lyrics so I wouldn’t want an entire album of just this with no lyrics. How ya doing? Would you want an entire album like this one? 🤔 However, I do love this one?!?! Is it me favorite?!!! Wellll, no, I am still looking for me favorite Christmas song, fully convinced it doesn’t exist. 😬 Edit: Avi and his hair and dark clothes does look a certain kind of yummy way….just sayin….oh good grief, here is the alert 🚨 for that but I ain’t takin it back! 😬 What exactly is a bomity bom bapp in the corner after you get joyful and triumphant?!?! How did I miss this the first time around? I mean I kinda sorta have some ideas 💡 about what you might mean but I don’t think it is the same as what you meant? 🤔 My translation of what you meant is kinda sorta bold, I mean as bold as you can be in a corner? You know with people there. You don’t say anything about people being there though? 🤔 I have very important questions?!?! (Probably not but here we all are? 🤷🏼♀️) Happy 100 Disney! 💥 Later Gator 🐊! 💥 Here if talk and jazz! 💥 T ✌🏻 ❤️ and 🫳🏻🫴🏻
Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker ballet. They never cease to amaze me! Oh Ari’s bass - I’m going to miss it. Thanks for doing so many Pentatonix videos.
I’m sure everyone has already told you Pentatonix won a Grammy for there rendition of this recording. When you look straight ahead, you are looking directly at me, I find myself running my hand through my hair. I can here you and the rest of the commenters LTAO. Stay safe 🎁☃️🎅🏻🎄🎁☃️🎅🏻🎄🎁☃️🎅🏻🎄
You can hear them getting notes higher and higher, and Mitch, once getting to the attic, opens the hatch to stand on the roof to hit is note, and then about 2 minutes later, they are going back down (I swear you can hear them taking the stairs) and AVI keeps going until he finds the Sub Basement with his note. Love your reaction! Thanks again!
I have several favorites! Oh, Come all Ye Faithful has a wonderful vibe! White Winter Hymnal, and from this year, Amazing Grace/My Chains are Gone (possibly BETTER or at least on par with Haleljula!)!!!
Enjoying your PTX Christmas music very much! Just wanted to let you know "Dance of the Sugar Plum Gators" is from the Nutcracker ballet. It was composed by Tchaikovsky.
I am way too happy to have found your reactionary videos. This is most amazing, as are you..🤟I accept your reactions as...well...pretty much in a time warp where PTX is the only constant. Wow...think of that!! Mitch is the main part...or is he??? These guys are most amazing...as are you, Barry!!
It’s December 7th! Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!🎄❄☃ Not a word in this song, just sounds. Amazing! No wonder they won a Grammy award for it. Love the video too… so creative. Nice reaction B☘.
White Winter Hymnal and Coldest Winter are two that aren't reacted to very often. Their originals That's Christmas to Me and New Year's Day are other great ones to check out!
You hound do God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman....saw them last year for Xmas and balled my eyes out. Best Xmas ever! Perfect last good night before COVID 19
Should definitely consider watching Straight No Chaser, 12 Days of Christmas. You'll get your fill of Christmas music all wrapped up in one convenient little song.
Barry you should go to season 3 of the Sing Off ,the show that started it all for Pentatonix. The performances on there are incredible, with Florence and the Machines Dog Days, and their performance of born to be wild. They will blow you away. Love your videos Barry.
