I actually like the idea of a unicorn blind. If we decide to really splurge on a bottle, it’s nice to know what we should lean towards to maximize our bar priced bottle purchase 😂
I agree. Just because I probably will never have a bottle doesn't mean I don't like to learn about them. And you might have a chance to try one in a bar.
Shout out to Weller 107, my favorite sipper. It almost brought a tear to my eye it was like seeing one of my kids coming in first place. The editing on this video was fantastic I love the part where Kurt said I'll be back in a minute, it was brilliant😂😂😂
Great great series guys. Super fun and interesting. One of the best I've seen. Have Always looked forward to them. Thanks a bunch for posting. Hope there's another coming soon.
Found you guys about two months ago when my husband and I really got into bourbon. Taken your guys advice on quite a few bottles now. We were born and raised in Michigan City now Military stationed in Japan so been lucky to grab some of those Japan only releases!
Trenton--Won't eat pie, will eat random, mushy tree fruit of unknown and potentially poisonous origin. Side note: Dr. Pepper Strawberry Cream is like candy. Highly recommend!
Yes! Finally Bourbon, Whiskey, Armagnac, Cognac season has arrived! I'm not much of a drinker and 1 bottle of anything can last 1 year in my home. I prefer Gin and Tonic in the summer. But I've been watching you guys and made my first Bourbon purchase in May and have been waiting for 50°-60° weather to arrive. Thanks for being such great guides 👍
KURT!!! This was AWESOME!!! You see, THIS is how cocktails are created!!! At 15:20, my bird brain started to go into overdrive!!! I have a bottle of Wellers that need my attention!!! CHEERS family!!!
Love the blinds, great series. Trenton, I think you handicap yourself by always trying to guess the bottles. By doing that you bring in all of your preconceived notions about each bottle, and which one you think should win. I like Kirk’s approach, just judge by the flavors you experience in the moment.
I have never tried the 107 but am sitting on a bottle for a special day, I love cherry vanilla coke and yall saying that makes me even more excited to try it.
i think im a little more traditional in my palette when it comes to bourbon.. typically really enjoy the nuttier, full bodied bourbon over the fruity more "complex" flavors.. and i LOVE eh taylor small batch.. quite a bit more than weller 107. eht barrel proof is one of my all time favorite pours. batch 12 is next level awesome.
Glad to see Weller antique regarded so highly by you guys. The restaurant I work for bought a barrel so they're only charging $10 a pour. It's been on my radar since we got the bottles in so I'm going to have to try it on my next shift. Also, I'm really glad I found you guys because I feel like mine and Kurt's pallets are extremely similar. It's making it easier for me to transfer from scotch into the world of bourbon.
@SLB Drinks - a Unicorn blind would be exciting to watch. I know what you mean about most people cannot get those bottles, but trust me, it is exactly the type of content people would enjoy. It is fun to get to see all the unicorns, especially together in a blind. Its fun to watch other people enjoy and describe them. It is the closest most will ever get to experiencing it ourself.
I picked up a ECBP C923, Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel, and a Buffalo Trace today. I live in NC with state run ABC stores, so this was a great haul for this area.
I won an Antique 107 at a raffle (about 30 bottles of every EH Taylor offering, 5 bottles of every Weller offering, a couple Blantons straight from the barrel, regular Blanton’s, Elmer T Lee) The buy-in was $20 for a gallon of Fireball lol, so I was like what the heck, let’s buy one. I quickly realized there were about 60 people, many of whom had 10-15 tickets per person, never thought I’d win. But alas, I waited an hour to hear my name drawn for a single barrel select of Antique 107, price was $90 plus the $20 buy-in. 😂😂 the feeling of winning on a single ticket and also enjoying this 107 slowly is pretty wonderful to say the least 🙃
Great video...hope to one day procure a bottle or two in your line-up...but only after my palate evolves enough to appreciate them. Trenton...be more careful of you eat...some of these things will actually kill you! Truly envious of the bond you two have...keep it up!!!
Enjoy all the videos you guys have been making, and keeping it real! Would be very interested to see what you think of the Binny’s Clark and Sheffield line
I finally got a bottle of weller 107 after years of literally never even seeing on a shelf i just paid secondary and had it shipped ($130). It was the first "hype" bottle that I thought lived up to the hype amazing pour I already ordered a second bottle hope to always have one on hand. It's on the short list of "if I could only have one bottle..." contenders
Weller Antique 107 is often available in Ohio with the allocated bottles. I bought one a couple of years ago and thought it was just okay. I will have to pick one up next time I see it to give it a second chance.
The antique Is the best of available Weller, I have but haven't cracked the C923 yet, I've heard great things though. Never saw that Makers unfortunately. Taylor is so different than most of the others it doesn't surprise me, a little more rye forward!
Lol you guys are hillarious. Great drink though👍. Your order is very close to what I would (and probably most) have done. The only thing that lightly surprised me was that Weller wasn’t 2nd place and ECBP wasn’t first place. But not a huge surprise, Weller is dang tasty. Makers always tastes medicinal to me, like cherry cough syrup.
Kurt, I found something a bit interesting in taste. Being a Virginia Resident, I normally like to sample VA made bourbons. I recently ran across a bottle of "Reservoir" bourbon, of course, Made in Virginia product. If you see a bottle in your area, Pick it up and give you thoughts on this. It is surely a taste like I have never tasted before. But its certainly not bad. And Glad to see the Elijah Craig BP on your blind, Those BP's have been some great tasting pours this year. I also have a dog named Cooper, Havanese, Just over a year old, He is a bundle of joy.
A few months ago I finally got to buy a couple bottles of Weller SR and I was quite disappointed. Then a friend got ahold of a 107 and that thing was great. It is really a very good pour of whiskey.
I just got myself a Weller 107 and I I think it’s just decent. That was the neck pour though, so I’m refraining judgement on it until I try it when it’s opened up.
This was interesting and your right tomorrow you’d have a different line up. As far as a unicorn blind not really interested in that it’s great you can get them but they are bottles I’ll never pick up even if I see them unless msrp which since I’m not a camper that wouldn’t happen. Enjoy!!
Weller 107 is my all time favorite. I have two unopened bottles that I am afraid to open because it is my favorite and I don't want to be without because I can't replace it.
I was really hoping EC BP C923 would take the win, only because i have 4 bottles in my possession and i doubt ill find a weller 107 any time soon lol. Great show as always gentlemen! Great line up.
@@kayleighherr4775 Because its a buy it and back it up type of bourbon. Il possibly make some trades too. Not hoarding, just consider it leverage. Cheers!
What the heck, I'm retired and it's 5:00 somewhere. I happen to have my bottle of C923 right here on the table and a empty Glen. I'll have one with you. Cheers!
Thats what I thought until I tried a pour of Weller 12 at a bar. Unfortunately, getting my own bottle has proved damn near impossible unless I skip paying my mortgage for a month.
Would be nice on these to see what you think they should sell for should one be able to find them. I’ve seen one bottle of this particular Weller. It was $300 IIRC. I did find a the E. H. Taylor SB for $89
A107 is amazing……but ECBP is too, unfortunate that c923 was the choice to go up against it….133 is just a little too hot, great bottle but it’s so hot! Honestly Antique 107 drinks hotter than 107 and I feel other batches of ecbp could easily win…..A107 is consistently one of the best tho, regardless of “batch”, so I’m happy with these results……..definitely eh last place! Great episode!
These blind tasting are KILLING ME!...but killing me in a good way.....so far I have many of the bottles that you picked first in each category, and I dont even own the ones you thought would win!
Would love to see a unicorn blind!! Also some other blind ideas Best Cask strength Blind Best High Rye Blind Best Full Proof Blind Best High Wheated Blind Best State Blind minus Kentucky of course Best Single Malt Blind The possibilities are ebdkess 😂. Keep up the amazing content guys! I love it. 🥃🥃 Cheers!
