@@slayer31397 almost definitely will because higher fire rate is one of the most important things for an hbgs dps there is a reason why we spend most of our 1 slots on skills that increase our rate of fire.
As someone who loves to play spread bow with bladescale and Adrenaline rush, being about as close to the monster as a longsword user, Embolden has been a real delight. It's so nice to bring this playstyle into multiplayer without fearing to get one-shot carted if you slip up a dodge.
Would really like to see you guys do more bowgun builds, I really like how you break things down and HBG is my favorite weapon in Sunbreak. This build looks like a lot of fun, honestly wasn't too impressed with the skills in TU2, but embolden looks better than I expected. I hate using shield with HBG normally due to how much time you can be locked down with block recoil, so I'll have to give this a shot. Pun intended.
Thank you for this build. Been wanting to give bowguns a try again since it's been years, this looks like a great build to get myself used to the playstyle again without worrying about carting constantly
if you want a full tank with guard 5 guard up 3, try rakna helm+jyura greaves, you will probably lose out on attack boost but u will survive pretty much everything that doesnt hit your back(stuff like Scorned enrage will still deal a quite a bit of damage while guarding, and Risen Chameleos supernova/explosion will insta kill you etc.) and those 2 pieces are cheap to augment as well, and spare shot is not really needed
I tried out this build against violet miz, and holy cow does this build slap. Like the amount of things you can just shrug off is insane, having the monster target you almost the entire time makes the melee users being able to use their giant combos helps speed up the hunt too.
If you run with others I highly recommend 1 flinch free. It's normally cheap-ish as a quirio craft but really helps you as you share the close range space with melee otherwise. Especially LS users.
I think I'll adapt this to the golm gun, I already have that one made and the slots are good enough that I can make it work and fiddle with the recoil/reload. With Qurious crafting I'm sure I can come up with enough bonus stuff to offset the downsides of the gun.
Golm HBG is honestly the best spread option available, it's damage output alone outweighs the one draw back of moving reload, and then you have the slot coverage. There's gotta be a higher damage better skills version of this build for sure
Don't listen to metaheads saying "ohmergedd nOt fAsTeSt Reload tHiS guN baAaD". Garangolm HBG is amazing, high raw, good clip size, incredible slots. All at the price of 1 level of reload speed. I play guns exclusively, and this gun has been doing wonders (build or battle wise). Plus it looks cool AF. P/S: Try out Shrapnel 3 with this gun on Great Izuchi and the likes. Their mobs might as well not exist. Spread when they're downed. Daka-daka go bRrrrr
@@slayer31397 Every moment you're reloading is a moment a monster can sneak in an attack. That's why the better reload speed is important for this build.

I really like this video without major armor augmentation! Keep up the good work! I've seen ppl creating videos with CAPTION saying best builds but they have a LOT of lucky augmentation involved and i'm like, meh.
Alright, you've convinced me. I need to make this set. I'm a dual blades main that hasn't really touched ranged weapons in Rise, but this looks too fun not to try.
we both.. .rofl... I did it, but as a solo player I fell some lack of dmg. My hunts are 10' to 12' as a melee player... Im doing 16' to 22' with this build, but i'm immortal hahahah. Funny enough, i did effortless the advanced: Malzeno (22'). Worth It.
@@DeonziS probably just need to learn the weak spot for gunner, since some monster has different weakspot for melee and range, i have this build without attack 7 and i still do every hunt in
yes... come to the dark side. ....of slowly walking and shooting. you can shoulder check with the shield too, fyi. seriously tho i may try this. i’ve not use a shield on my gun in a while. i’ve got a really bubble shotgun leech thing going right now, and i wanna make an antique machine hbg build cuz its the only new level shot cluster gun 🤷♂️. edit: as a long time gunner, i would recommend trying to squeeze in 1 evade extender if there’s any way to do it. they shortened the default heavy roll in Rise, so 1 Evade Ext. is reeeeeally nice for getting around.
Hmm, as much as I don't really like Bowguns for a multitude of reasons, I may have to give this one a try. I knew Embolden would work for Bowguns but I didn't consider the guard skill stacking with Embolden and going beyond 5. Should be interesting....maybe.

My question for you is: Critical Boost 3 or Burst 3? Or Critical Boost 2+Burst 1? I got some serious luck with my Qurious Talisman and Qurious Crafting. One I reach Anomoly Level 240 and unlock Attack 4 slot deco, I'll have a free 4-slot available to use. I can also remove one of my Ballistics (Ballistic 2 isn't that much differant than Ballistic 3). My current set gives: Attack Boost 7, Agitator 5, Guard 5 Spare Shot 3, Embolden 3, Ballistics 3, Reload Speed 3, Recoil Down 3, Guard Up 3, Spread Up 3, Weakness Exploit 3, Shock Absorber 1, and Tune-Up 1

It makes me wonder - how the hell you do not take the damage at all from Uber Monke with only 1 Guard Up? Guard itsels only reduces the knockback and staming consumption from blocks, not the damage (which Guard Up does) or I'm missing something? Or in the lategame you have so much defense that you negate most dmg anyway?
another broken skill! You can become a nonstop hitting gunner?? Holy moly thats fun! Altough Im more on a lessen mobility like in 1st to 5th generation where you can feel the heavyness of each weapon which you'll get a punishment from doing a wrong move thats why you really need to read monsters movement. But I guess rise really become the new era of hunting. I'll just embrace the changes T____T
Can someone help me pls. I crafted it exaktly like he says anf i have all the deco skills you need but it didnt work. Im in the attack dont shoot just stay there and get recoil and gain damage. Pls help
Doesn't Tune Up 1 do the same thing? Seems like that'd be less of an investment. And Crouching Shot/Fire whatever the Charge Shot alternative is called, is a good alternative to use when you downed the monster instead of reloading when you've almost finished your magazine. Also deals mildly interesting damage even with Normal 1 if you can get the full burst off regularly.
If i rolled Tune-Up on an armor piece during augmenting..how would that effect this build? Tune-up 1 increases the stats for the shield mod on the heavy bowgun.

Nothing will bring players to the insect glaive since 4, I don't want to spend half the fight grabbing buffs HH is a lil rough but the buffs are worth having so it's kinda worth it insect glaive feels like oh screw you take a break grab buffs constantly spiribirds are bad enough
I keep seeing different answers on whether you can proc offensive guard with HBG shields. Would be nice if it worked with this build, but I don’t know if it works in this game
I know it's old, but I felt like clarifying. Offensive guard in Rise, before sun break, only worked if you blocked right after unsheathing. This was patched out at some point during or before Sunbreak's release. It was never intended, but it did work only briefly.
I went with a Reload Speed 2, Steadiness 1 3-2-1 charm on this build to max out Reload Speed, as I managed to augment a number of upgraded slots and added extra 1-slots onto the build. You also neglected to mention that the Tetranadon HBG has R Mild deviation. It might not matter that much at Spread's point blank critical distance, but I'm a stickler for getting all of the kinks out, so I slapped Steadiness 3 onto the build as well, sacrificing 1 point of Guard in the process, which I don't think matters much. Oddly, my favorite part about Embolden is that when you see the message that the skill has activated, it means that you are being targeted by the monster. That gives you a chance to quickly turn and face the monster so you can block whatever attack it's about to use.
I’ve been trying to find out how to get the iron wall gems for the Guard ability but I keep reading it’s very long hours in hopes of the drops. Am I missing anything?

The materials are: Ironwall Jewel 2 Tetranadon Disc+ x 2 Almudron Fin+ x 3 Narwa Sparksac x 3 Bloodrun Jewel x 4 Ironwall Jewel+ 3 Lazurite Jewel x 8 Basarios Lash x 1 Jyuratodus Grandfin x 2
